Chandrashekhar Narvekar (born 4 April 1952) is an Indian producer, writer and director, known for gritty realism, in his early dark and loud films. His most successful commercial films are ''Ankush (1986 film), Ankush'', ''Pratighaat'', ''Tezaab'' and ''Narsimha (1991 film), Narsimha''. Chandra also made moderately successful but critically scorned ''Style (2001 film), Style'' and its sequel ''Xcuse Me''.Style

''Ankush'' is a 1986 Hindi action drama film starring Nana Patekar, which was written, directed, edited and co-produced by N. Chandra. Made on a modest budget of ₹12 lakh, the film grossed ₹95 lakh. It was remade in Kannada as ''Ravana Rajya'' and in Tamil as ''Kavithai Paada Neramillai''. Synopsis The film tells the story of four lower middle class unemployed young men in Mumbai who feel disconnected with society and are wasting their lives. It was the second collaboration between the trio Govinda-Tabu-Karishma after blockbuster Saajan Chale Sasural in 1996. The song was a remake of the original ''Ek Do Teen'' from the film '' Tezaab'' which was sung by Alka Yagnik and Amit Kumar and featured Madhuri Dixit.
