Jabal al-Dukhan (Arabic:جبل دخان) ( ar, "smoke mountain") is a mountain located in Saudi territory southwest of the village of Al Khubah in Jizan Province, which borders the Mount Smoke path of the Saudi Arabia–Yemen border between from the south-east and the length of the mountain and his 7x7 kilometers and reaches an elevation of the mountain from the sea about 500 meters from the sea and rises out of place 250 meters. In 2009 it was the location of fighting between Saudi forces and the Houthis during Operation Scorched Earth. Jizan Region also spelled Jazan ( ar, جيزان, Jizan) is the second smallest (after Al Bahah) region of Saudi Arabia. It stretches along the southern Red Sea coast, just north of Yemen. It covers an area of 11,671 km2 and has a population of 1,567,547 at the 2017 census. The region has the highest population density in the Kingdom. The capital is the city of Jazan; Prince Muhammad bin Nasser has been the Governor since April 2001. The region includes over 100 islands in the Red Sea. The Saudi Arabia–Yemen border is 1,307 km (812 mi) in length and runs from the Red Sea coast in the west to the tripoint with Oman in the east. Description The border starts in the west on the Red Sea coast just north of Midi. An irregular line then proceeds to the north-east and then east to the vicinity of Al Bugal, first through a coastal plain and then through the Sarawat Mountains. Houthi
The Houthi movement (; ar, ٱلْحُوثِيُّون ''al-Ḥūthīyūn'' ), officially called Ansar Allah (' ''Partisans of God'' or ''Supporters of God'') and colloquially simply Houthis, is an Islamist political and armed movement that emerged from Saada in North Yemen in the 1990s. The Houthi movement is a predominately Zaidi Shia force, whose leadership is drawn largely from the Houthi tribe. The Houthis have a complex relationship with Yemen's Sunni Muslims; the movement has discriminated against Sunnis, but also recruited and allied with them. Operation Scorched Earth
Operation Scorched Earth (Arabic language, Arabic: عملية الأرض المحروقة) was the code-name of a Military of Yemen, Yemeni military offensive in the Saada Governorate that began in August 2009. It marked the fifth wave of violence during the ongoing Shia insurgency in Yemen, insurgency by the Houthis against the government. In November 2009, the conflict spread across the Saudi Arabia–Yemen border, border into neighboring Saudi Arabia. This conflict led to the Saudi military's incursion into Yemen, marking the first military operation conducted by Saudi Arabia since 1991.
