Morley is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. The name is first attested in 1086 as ''Morlea'', which probably meant "open ground by a pasture/clearing", from Old English language, Old English ''mōr'' "moorland, moor, clearing, pasture" + lẽah "open ground, clearing". It covers an area of and had a population of 973 in 182 households at the United Kingdom Census 2001, 2001 census, increasing to a population of 1.241 in 191 households at the 2011 census. Morley, Ontario
Morley is a township in the Canadian province of Ontario, located within the Rainy River District. The township had a population of 481 in the Canada 2016 Census. Named after John Morley, it was formed in 1903 when the townships of Morley and Pattullo, as well as the village of Stratton, were amalgamated. In 2004, the Township of Morley was greatly expanded through the addition of the geographic townships of Sifton and Dewart, that were previously part of Unorganized Rainy River District. Baron Morley is an abeyant title in the Peerage of England. On 29 December 1299 William de Morley, lord of the manor of Morley Saint Botolph in Norfolk, was summoned to parliament and was thereby deemed to have become Baron Morley. At the death of the sixth baron in 1443, the barony was inherited by his daughter Alianore de Morley, the wife of Sir William Lovel, who was summoned to parliament as Baron Morley ''jure uxoris'' and died in 1476, shortly before her. It was then inherited by their son Henry Lovel, following whose death in 1489 it came to his sister Alice Lovel, who was married to Mr Parker. The title was thenceforward held by her descendants the Parker family until 1697, when on the death of the fifteenth baron without children, the barony fell into abeyance. At the same time he was created Viscount Boringdon, of North Molton in the County of Devon, which is used as a courtesy title by the heir apparent to the earldom. It does not seem to have any connection with Baron Morley of Morley in Norfolk, held by another Parker family in the 16th century.
