''Dayboro Times and Moreton Mail'' was a weekly English language newspaper published in Dayboro, Queensland, Australia. History ''Moreton Mail'' was established in 1886 in Brisbane by Charles Gill. In 1937 the ''Dayboro Times'' merged with the ''Moreton Mail'' to form the ''Dayboro Times and Moreton Mail.'' ''Dayboro Times and Moreton Mail'' incorporating ''North Coast Star'' was a weekly English language newspaper published by the William M. Cook, Dayboro, Queensland, Australia and established in 1888. In 1937 it claimed a readership in the shires of Pine, Caboolture, Kilcoy, Landsborough, Maroochy, Noosa, Widgee and the City of Gympie. Later issues claimed a readership in Bald Hills, Strathpine, Lawnton, Petrie, Dayboro, Mt Mee, Caboolture, Woodford, Samsonvale and Camp Mountain. Mount Mee is a rural town and locality in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Mount Mee had a population of 484 people. Geography Mount Mee (also known as Bonnie Knob) is a mountain, located north of the town of Dayboro, in the D'Aguilar Range(), rising above sea level. History The area around Mount Mee was known to the indigenous inhabitants of the area as ''Dahmongah'', a word meaning "flying squirrel" or glider. The English name ''Mount Mee'' is possibly derived from another local word ''mia-mia'', meaning a ''view'' or ''lookout'', but this name was not formalised until the establishment of the school in 1899. Settlers began arriving in the area around Mount Mee in 1873, many being timber-getters attracted by the red cedar timber that was readily available in the area. Camp Mountain is a rural locality in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Camp Mountain had a population of 1,416 people. Geography Camp Mountain is near Samford, north-west of the Brisbane central business district. The south-east of the locality is within D'Aguilar National Park and a lookout and recreation area are accessible off Mount Nebo Road. The locality takes its name from the mountain Camp Mountain () which rises above sea level. History There was gold mining in the area in the 1860s. The miners referred to the area as their "mountain camp" and that is the origin of the name of the mountain and the locality. In the late 1800s the mountain was known as Mount Daniel. Samsonvale is a rural locality in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Samsonvale had a population of 590 people. Geography The district is dominated by Lake Samsonvale, the waters of North Pine Dam, one of the three main water-suppliers to the metropolitan region. Samsonvale sits below the highest peak in the area, Mount Samson. History Samsonvale was occupied by the indigenous people, who named the area Tukuwompa. British settlement of Samsonvale began with the Samsonvale pastoral run established in 1845 by the Joyner family and the locality takes its name from the pastoral run. The nearby suburb of Joyner is named after the family. The history of Samsonvale is one of forced resumptions with three quarters of the Joyner's original pastoral run in the 1860s being taken from them.
