Mocheni Valley
The Bersntol (german: Fersental, it, Valle del Fersina) is a valley in the Autonomous Province of Trento, in north-eastern Italy. The Fersina river runs through it. It is also known as the ''Valle del Mòcheni'' after its inhabitants, who speak the Upper German Mòcheno language. History Since the 14th century the valley has been home to a Mòcheno-speaking population of Upper German origin, and is a language island of the Mòcheno language. The valley is part of the district of Alta Valsugana e Bersntol. Palai En Bersntol
Pallai ( ta, பளை, si, පල්ලෙයි), also spelt Palai, is a small town in the Kilinochchi District, Northern Province, Sri Lanka, Northern Province, Sri Lanka. It is located near the coast on the northern peninsula, approximately south-east of Jaffna. In 1861 the Church Mission Society sent Rev. John Backus to Pallai to establish a Christian community in the town. This led to the construction and dedication of St. Andrew's Church on 30 November 1895. In 1921 the government declared a area adjacent to the town as a Protected areas of Sri Lanka#Forest reserves and proposed reserves, forest reserve. Transport Pallai is located on the A9 road (Sri Lanka), (A9) Kandy-Jaffna Highway. It is served by Pallai railway station, a railway station on the national network which was out of use due to Sri Lankan Civil War, war damage. Mòcheno Language
Mòcheno (german: Fersentalerisch; bar, Bersntolerisch) is an Upper German variety spoken in three towns of the Bersntol (german: Fersental, it, Valle del Fersina), in Trentino, northeastern Italy. Mòcheno is closely related to Bavarian and is variously classified either as a Southern Bavarian dialect or a separate language of its own. It has also been posited that it may be descended from Lombardic. Mòcheno speakers reportedly partially understand Bavarian, Cimbrian, or Standard German. However, many essential differences in grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation render it difficult for speakers of standard German to understand.
