Mitchell Corporation
Mitchell Corporation (株式会社ミッチェル) was a Japanese video game developer based in the Suginami ward of Tokyo. Roy Ozaki served as president, and Koichi Niida served as vice-president. Some employees were former Capcom and TAD Corporation employees. The company was originally established on February 1, 1960, as an import/export business by the father of Roy Ozaki. Ozaki and Niida took over the company and began acting as exclusive overseas agents for such video game companies as Visco, Video System, Seta, Metro, Home Data, and other small video game manufacturers in the 1980s. Company activity was suspended on 20 November 2012. Mitchell Corporation developed titles for home consoles, handhelds, Japanese mobile phones, the arcade and interactive kiosks located in restaurants and other places. Suginami
is a special ward in Tokyo, Japan. The ward refers to itself as Suginami City in English. As of June 1, 2022, Suginami has an estimated population of 588,354 and a population density of 17,274 persons per km2. The total area is 34.06 km2. ''Pang '', originally released in Japan as and known in North America as ''Buster Bros.'', is a 1989 action game released by Mitchell Corporation for arcades in 1989. It was the tenth game released for Capcom's CP System arcade hardware. The basic gameplay is identical to a much earlier 1983 Japanese MSX computer game called ''Cannon Ball'' (also released in 1983 on the ZX Spectrum as ''Bubble Buster''). ''Osman'' is a side-scrolling action game, action platform game, platforming game produced by Mitchell Corp. that was released as a coin-operated arcade game in 1996. Many ex-Capcom staff including Kouichi Yotsui (credited as Isuke), worked on the original arcade version of ''Strider (arcade game), Strider'' and designed ''Osman'' as an unofficial sequel to ''Strider''. Yotsui directed both titles. Polarium
is a puzzle game developed by Mitchell Corporation for the Nintendo DS. It was a launch title in Japan, Europe and China. In the game, players use a stylus to draw lines on the DS's touch screen, flipping black and white tiles to clear puzzles. Gameplay Select tiles by drawing lines over them with the stylus. Selected tiles will flip from black to white or vice versa. In the standard Tetris-like challenge mode, players must make room for falling tiles by clearing rows as they pile up on the bottom screen.
