Miss Norway
Miss Norway (formerly known as "Frøken Norge") is a national beauty pageant in Norway The pageant was founded in 1950, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe. History Miss Norway was held for first time in 1950 by Dagbladet Magazine. There were no official Frøken Norge or Miss Norway titleholders from 1975 to 1982 during which Norwegian model agencies sent girls to international pageants. Since 1983 the pageant was run by Frøken Norge Corporation. In 2000 - 2010, the pageant was sponsored by TV2 Network. Traditionally, the winner will get a chance to compete at Miss World pageant. Meanwhile, the runners-up will compete at Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Europe. Sometimes the winner will be able to compete at the other pageants. In May 2012, a new concept called "Miss Universe Norway" was established by the company "Motivaction AS" after the application for the license for Miss Universe in Norway was approved. A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Finnmark
Finnmark (; se, Finnmárku ; fkv, Finmarku; fi, Ruija ; russian: Финнмарк) was a county in the northern part of Norway, and it is scheduled to become a county again in 2024. On 1 January 2020, Finnmark was merged with the neighbouring county of Troms to form the new Troms og Finnmark county. On 1 January 2024, the county will be demerged back to the counties Finnmark and Troms, after a decision made by parliament on 15 June 2022. Miss International 1995, the 35th Miss International pageant, was held on September 10, 1995 at the Shinjuku Pension Hall, Koseinenkin Kaikan in Tokyo, Japan. 47 contestants competed for the coveted title. Christina Lekka of Greece crowned Anne Lena Hansen of Norway as the new titleholder. This marked the second time that Norway won the Miss International crown. Buskerud
Buskerud () is a former county and a current electoral district in Norway, bordering Akershus, Oslo, Oppland, Sogn og Fjordane, Hordaland, Telemark and Vestfold. The region extends from the Oslofjord and Drammensfjorden in the southeast to Hardangervidda mountain range in the northwest. The county administration was in modern times located in Drammen. Buskerud was merged with Akershus and Østfold into the newly created Viken County on 1 January 2020. Sogn Og Fjordane
Sogn og Fjordane (; English: "Sogn and Fjordane") was, up to 1 January 2020, a county in western Norway, when it was merged to become part of Vestland county. Bordering previous counties Møre og Romsdal, Oppland, Buskerud, and Hordaland, the county administration was in the village of Hermansverk in Leikanger municipality. The largest town in the county was Førde. Although Sogn og Fjordane has some industry, predominantly hydroelectricity and aluminium, it is predominantly an agricultural area. Østfold
Østfold is a traditional region, a former county and a current electoral district in southeastern Norway. Mona Grudt
Mona Grudt (born 6 April 1971) is a Norwegian television presenter, model, editor and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Universe 1990. She is so far the only Norwegian to capture the Miss Universe title. Miss Universe She became the clear favorite of the judges, winning the interview and swimsuit preliminaries and all three segments of the semi-finals. Oppland
Oppland is a former county in Norway which existed from 1781 until its dissolution on 1 January 2020. The old Oppland county bordered the counties of Trøndelag, Møre og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Buskerud, Akershus, Oslo and Hedmark. The county administration was located in the town of Lillehammer. Merger On 1 January 2020, the neighboring counties of Oppland and Hedmark were merged to form the new Innlandet county. Both Oppland and Hedmark were the only landlocked counties of Norway, and the new Innlandet county is the only landlocked county in Norway.
