Milo M. Dimmick
Milo Melankthon Dimmick (October 30, 1811 – November 22, 1872) was a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. Biography Milo Melankthon Dimmick (brother of William Harrison Dimmick) was born in Milford, Pennsylvania. He pursued classical studies, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1834 and commenced practice in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Dimmick was elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-first and Thirty-second Congresses. While a member of congress, he served a chairman of the United States House Committee on Expenditures in the Department of War during the Thirty-first and Thirty-second Congresses. He was not a candidate for renomination in 1852. He resumed the practice of law. He was an unsuccessful candidate for president judge of the twenty-second judicial district of Pennsylvania in 1853. Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District
Pennsylvania's 10th congressional district is located in the south-central region of the state. It encompasses all of Dauphin County as well as parts of Cumberland County and York County. The district includes the cities of Harrisburg and York. Prior to 2019, the district was located in the northeastern part of the state. The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania redrew the district in 2018 after ruling the previous map unconstitutional due to gerrymandering. The court added State College to the old district's boundaries while removing some Democratic-leaning areas and redesignated it the twelfth district, and they reassigned the tenth district to an area around Harrisburg and York. The new tenth district is represented by Republican Scott Perry, who previously represented the old fourth district. Stroudsburg is a borough in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. It lies within the Poconos region, approximately five miles (8 km) from the Delaware Water Gap at the confluence of the Brodhead, McMichaels and Pocono Creeks in Northeastern Pennsylvania. It is also the county seat of Monroe County. Stroudsburg is part of the East Stroudsburg, PA Metropolitan Statistical Area, which in turn is part of the New York combined statistical area. William Harrison Dimmick
William Harrison Dimmick (December 20, 1815 – August 2, 1861) was an American politician from Pennsylvania who served as a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Pennsylvania's 13th congressional district from 1857 to 1861. Biography William H. Dimmick (brother of Milo Melankthon Dimmick) was born in Milford, Pennsylvania, the son of Dan Dimmick, a lawyer and Jane, daughter of Jacobus Josephus Aerts, also known as Dr. Francis J. Smith. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1835 and commenced practice in Bethany, Pennsylvania. He moved to Honesdale, Pennsylvania, in 1842 and continued the practice of law. He served as prosecuting attorney of Wayne County, Pennsylvania, in 1836 and 1837. He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 10th district from 1845 to 1846.
