Michael Lewis (musician)
Mike Lewis (born Michael Lewis) is an American saxophonist and bassist from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a founding member and saxophonist in contemporary jazz groups Happy Apple and Fat Kid Wednesdays. He also plays electric bass in Alpha Consumer and Redstart. Lewis has contributed to other projects such as Fog's ''Ditherer'' and Gayngs' ''Relayted''. He is currently a member of Andrew Bird's band, as well as Dosh, Bon Iver, and the Tallest Man on Earth. Minneapolis () is the largest city in Minnesota, United States, and the county seat of Hennepin County. ''Dark Bird Is Home'' is the fourth LP by The Tallest Man on Earth. It was released on CD, digital and vinyl on May 12, 2015 through the label Dead Oceans. The album is the first in his discography to feature a full band playing on almost every track. Background The songs of the album were recorded in various countries, studios, and barns, and are said to "carry a weather-worn quality, some dirt and some grit." BJ Burton announced via his Instagram page that production on the album had begun in July 2014 and concluded in September 2014. The album is said to be Matsson's most personal and direct piece of work, inspired by the death of a close family member and by the divorce from his wife, singer-songwriter Amanda Bergman. Haley McCallum (born 1983), professionally known as Haley and formerly Haley Bonar, is a Canadian-born American singer and songwriter who was raised in Rapid City, South Dakota. She has lived in Duluth and currently St. Paul, Minnesota. In 2009, she moved to Portland, Oregon, where she spent a year writing songs for her album ''Golder'', which was released April 19, 2011.
