Merethe Trøan
Merethe Trøan (born 19 May 1970, Trondheim) is a Norwegian singer, best known for her participation in the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest. In her teens, Trøan and her sister were members of vocal group Pastel together with two brothers (not related to the Trøans). In 1985, Pastel took part in the Norwegian Eurovision Song Contest selection, Melodi Grand Prix, with the song "Ring Ring Ring" finishing third. Pastel released one self-titled LP before disbanding. In 1992, Trøan returned to MGP as a solo artist, and this time was successful with the song " Visjoner" being chosen as the Norwegian entry for the 37th Eurovision Song Contest, held in Malmö, Sweden on 9 May. "Visjoner" did not prove very successful, managing only 18th place of 23 entries, although Trøan's performance is remembered for a spontaneous giggle midway through the song. Trondheim ( , , ; sma, Tråante), historically Kaupangen, Nidaros and Trondhjem (), is a city and municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. Wenche Myhre
Wenche Synnøve Myhre (born 15 February 1947), known in some countries as Wencke Myhre, is a Norwegian singer who has had a great number of hit songs since the 1960s in the Norwegian, Danish, German and Swedish markets and languages. Early career Myhre was born in Kjelsås, Oslo. She got her first recording contract with composer and producer Arne Bendiksen at the age of 13, after winning a talent contest staged by ''Verdens Gang'' newspaper at the Chat Noir theatre in Oslo in 1960. In 1963 she became the first performer to have three songs in the Top 10 at the same time. She got her first film role the same year. Eurovision Myhre made her first appearance in the Norwegian heats for the Eurovision Song Contest 1964 with the song "God gammel firkantet vals" which the juries placed second. Eva Gladys del Pilar Werner (born 11 October 1967) is an Ecuadorian-born Swedish singer and dancer. She is best known for being a member of the pop group Afro-dite, with which she represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002. Career Gladys mother noticed Gladys had an interest in music and made sure she attended a local music school. She was asked to provide back-up vocals for Big Deal, a popular local rock band. Gladys and the sound engineer at ''Big Deal's'' recording studio formed the house music group ''Real Power''. They soon became associated with the Nordik beat scene and signed to SweMix Records. ‘'Real Power'’ released the single "Trust" which received plenty of radio play. She provided back-up vocals for many Nordik beat/ SweMix acts such as Kayo and DJ's. OGAE Second Chance Contest 1993
The OGAE Second Chance Contest is a visual event which was founded in 1987 and is organised by branches of OGAE, the international fan club of the Eurovision Song Contest. Four nations competed in the first contest which took place in 1987. The competition was previously a non-televised event, but evolved over the years by the usage of video tape and later DVD, YouTube and streaming services. Each summer following the Eurovision Song Contest, each branch can enter one song that failed to win the country's national selection process for the contest. The members of each club choose amongst the songs that did not win and select one to represent the club in the event. Votes are cast by members of the OGAE clubs and are returned to the OGAE branch organising the particular year's event. Guest juries have been used to cast votes since 1993.
