Meiothermus Hypogaeus
''Meiothermus'' is a genus of ''Deinococcota'' bacteria. Members of ''Meiothermus'' can be reliably distinguished from other genera in the family ''Thermaceae'' as well as all other bacteria by the presence of three conserved signature indels (CSIs) found in the proteins: 5-methyltetrahydrofolate–homocysteine methyltransferase, cadmium transporter and polynucleotide phosphorylase and are exclusively shared by species of this genus. ''Meiothermus'' is also different than the ''Thermus'' genus, which it was originally a member of, in their optimum growth temperatures, with ''Meiothermus'' being able to grow in colder environments. ''Meiothermus'' was first isolated with ''Thermus'' in alkaline and neutral hot springs in Kamchatka, Russia and Yellowstone National Park, USA. Characteristics ''Meiothermus'' species of bacteria are gram-negative and are primarily chemoorganoheterotrophs, but some species can use nitrate as an electron acceptor. The ''Meiothermus'' genus was ...

Colorful Thermophiles At Grand Prismatic Spring (33669630821)
Color (American English) or colour (British English) is the visual perception, visual perceptual Physical property, property deriving from the spectrum of light interacting with the photoreceptor cells of the eyes. Color categories and physical specifications of color are associated with objects or materials based on their physical properties such as light absorption, reflection, or emission spectra. By defining a color space, colors can be identified numerically by their coordinates. Because perception of color stems from the varying spectral sensitivity of different types of cone cells in the retina to different parts of the spectrum, colors may be defined and quantified by the degree to which they stimulate these cells. These physical or physiological quantifications of color, however, do not fully explain the psychophysics, psychophysical perception of color appearance. Color science includes the color vision, perception of color by the human eye, eye and brain, the origin ...
