Matthew John Jurman ( ; ) is an Australian soccer player who plays as a centre-back and captains A-League club Newcastle Jets. Club career Youth career After graduating from Westfields Sports High School in 2007, Jurman furthered his football development at the AIS before signing for the Sydney FC youth team in 2008. In his first year at the club, Jurman helped Sydney FC to their first youth championship in the competition's inaugural campaign and later earned himself a senior deal at the club under then manager, John Kosmina. Sydney FC Jurman made his senior debut for Sydney FC off the bench on 9 September 2007 against Perth Glory. Gold Coast United Football Club is an Australian soccer club based in Gold Coast, Queensland. Juho Mäkelä (born 23 June 1983) is a Finnish footballer who plays as a striker. He is especially known for his pace. Perth Glory Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Perth, Western Australia. John Kosmina
Alexander John Kosmina (born 17 August 1956), known as John Kosmina, is an Australian former football (soccer) player and manager, most recently being the Senior Head Coach of Brisbane Strikers. He is a member of the Football Federation Australia Football Hall of Fame. Club career Kosmina is of Polish Australian ethnicity. He played for Polonia and then West Adelaide, before signing for English side Arsenal in February 1978. However, he only played one first-team league game for the Gunners (as a substitute against Leeds United on 19 August 1978), along with 3 appearances (2 as a substitute) in that season's UEFA cup. He was the first Australian to play for Arsenal. He returned to Australia in May 1979.
