''Matlock Police'' is an Australian television police drama series made by Crawford Productions for the 0-10 Network (now known as the 10 Network) between 1971 and 1976. The series focused on the police station and crime in the Victorian town of Matlock and the surrounding district, and the backgrounds and personal lives of the main policemen. Michael Pate
Michael Pate OAM (born Edward John Pate; 26 February 1920 – 1 September 2008) was an Australian actor, writer, director, and producer, who also worked in Hollywood in the 1950s and 1960s. Biography Early life Pate was born in Drummoyne, New South Wales, and attended Fort Street High School. Matlock is a rural locality in Victoria, Australia, located about 140 kilometres north-east of Melbourne, located within the Shires of Mansfield and Yarra Ranges local government areas. Matlock recorded a population of 7 at the 2021 census. The locality is named after the township that existed at two separate locations from the early 1860s to about the 1930s. George Lazenby
George Robert Lazenby (; born 5 September 1939) is an Australian actor. He was the second actor to portray fictional British secret agent James Bond in the Eon Productions film series, playing the character in '' On Her Majesty's Secret Service'' (1969). ''Solo One'' is an Australian television series made by Crawford Productions for the Seven Network and screened in 1976. There were 13 half-hour episodes. Synopsis The series was a spin-off from Crawford's other police show ''Matlock Police'' and featured Paul Cronin reprising his role as Sen. Const. Gary Hogan, but tailored for a younger audience. It was set in the real country town of Emerald in the Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne and used the town's actual police station. In the series Hogan sorts out problems for the locals. Bushrangers were originally escaped convicts in the early years of the British settlement of Australia who used the bush as a refuge to hide from the authorities.
