Marvin Bailey Scott (born March 10, 1944) is an American politician and university professor in Indianapolis, Indiana Indianapolis (), colloquially known as Indy, is the state capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Indiana and the seat of Marion County. Scott ran for political office several times and continues to be politically active. Scott was nominated by President George W. Bush and was affirmed by the United States Senate, US Senate to serve on the National Council for the Humanities. On one occasion, he chaired the Digital Humanities Committee, where he regularly served as a member.
