Mariya Koryttseva
Mariya Serhiyivna Koryttseva ( uk, Марія Сергіївна Коритцева; born 25 May 1985) is a Ukrainian former tennis player. On 18 August 2008, she achieved her career-high singles ranking of world No. 50. On 23 June 2008, she peaked at No. 39 in the doubles rankings. Career Koryttseva made a surprising run to the final of the Sunfeast Open, held in Kolkata, in September 2007. En route to her appearance in the final, she beat Monique Adamczak, Vania King, who had defeated the No. 1 seed Marion Bartoli in the previous round, Tatiana Poutchek and Anne Keothavong. Her run came to an end at the hands of Maria Kirilenko, who beat her in the final. She lost the doubles final as well. Vera Yevgenyevna Dushevina ( rus, Вера Евгеньевна Душевина; born 6 October 1986) is a Russian former professional tennis player. She won one singles title and two doubles titles on the WTA Tour. As a junior, she won the Wimbledon Championships, beating Maria Sharapova in the final, while she reached the final of the French Open losing to Anna-Lena Grönefeld. Martina Müller-Skibbe (; born 11 October 1982) is a former professional tennis player from Germany. She won one singles title and one doubles title on the WTA tour. WTA Auckland Open
The WTA Auckland Open (currently sponsored by ASB Bank and called the ASB Classic) is a professional women's tennis tournament in Auckland, New Zealand. The tournament is played annually, in the first week of January, at the ASB Tennis Centre in the suburb of Parnell, just east of the Central Business District. It is an International level tournament in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) World Tour. The equivalent men's event, the ATP Auckland Open, is played in the following week, immediately ahead of the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open. The Auckland Open is expected to return in 2023 after the 2021 and 2022 events were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic owing travel restrictions for international visitors to New Zealand. Karin Knapp (born 28 June 1987) is a retired Italian tennis player. In her career, Knapp won two singles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as six singles titles and six doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. Alice Canepa
Alice Canepa (; born 30 April 1978) is a retired tennis player from Italy. Her highest singles and doubles rankings are No. 158 and No. 93, respectively. Biography In her career, Canepa won a total of 24 titles (19 in doubles) on the ITF Women's Circuit. She has reached the doubles final of the WTA Tour, WTA Tier IV tournament in Palermo three times. Her biggest ITF title came when she won the doubles of the $50k event in Marseille in 2000. Sunfeast Open
The Sunfeast Open was an annual Women's Tennis Association, WTA Tour tennis tournament that was started in Kolkata in 2005. The event was a Tier III-tournament with a prize money of USD 175,000 and was played on indoors greenset. The fourth edition of the WTA Sunfeast Open, slated to be held in Kolkata from 6–12 October 2008, was shifted to Mumbai as the dates clash with the Durga Puja. The 2008 tournament in Mumbai, was to be held outdoors in the premises of Cricket Club of India, unlike the previous three editions. ITC Limited, ITC, an Indian conglomerate based out of Kolkata was the primary sponsor of the event. The company owns the Sunfeast brand of biscuits. Since 2008, the Sunfeast Open, has no longer been listed on the WTA calendar and hence has been cancelled after running into trouble regarding venues.
