Marina Alta
Marina Alta (, "Upper Marina") is a central and coastal ''comarca'' of the autonomous community of Valencia, Spain. The ''comarca'' is located in the area of Alicante and its capital and largest settlement is the city of Dénia. Marina Alta borders the ''comarca'' of Safor to the north, the Mediterranean Sea to the north and east, the ''comarca'' of Marina Baixa to the south and Comtat to the west. Marina Alta and Marina Baixa are commonly referred to as ''les Marines''. Coastal towns such as Calp, Denia and Xabia rely heavily on tourism, while inland towns are more dependent on agriculture and other general commerce. Benigembla ()Spanish exonym ''Benichembla'' () is a town and municipality located in the Pop Valley within the district of Marina Alta in eastern Spain. The town is 314 m above sea level. It is only 50 km away from Benidorm, 88 km from Alicante, 105 km from Valencia, and 23 km from Dénia. Comarques Of The Valencian Community
The ''comarques'' of the Valencian Community, form an intermediate level of administrative subdivision between municipalities and provinces. They are used as a basis for the provision of local services by the Generalitat Valenciana, but do not have any representative or executive bodies of their own. In 1987, the Generalitat Valenciana published an official proposal for Homologated Territorial Demarcations, ''Demarcacions Territorials Homologades'' (DTH), of three degrees, where the first degree largely coincides with the territorial concept of ''comarca''. Until now, the practice of these demarcations has been limited as a reference to the administrative decentralisation of the different services offered by the Generalitat, such as education, health, or agriculture. Castell De Castells
Castell de Castells (, ) is a municipality high in the mountains of the Marina Alta on the Costa Blanca in southeastern Spain. The village is at the source of the Rio Jalón and surrounded by mountains. It is approximately from the nearest village of Benigembla, and from Jalón, the nearest large town. El Ràfol D'Almúnia
El Ràfol d'Almúnia (; es, Ráfol de Almunia) is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Marina Alta in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is situated in the northern part of the province of Alicante, and numbers some 635 inhabitants according to the 2007 Spanish National Census (INE). History El Ràfol d'Almúnia has Arab origins. It belonged to King Taifas of Dénia, but under the conquest of Jaime I, control passed to the Crown of Aragon and their local ruling families, first the Murs, then the Sapenas and later the Almúnia. Els Poblets (), also known as ''Setla, Mira-rosa i Miraflor'', is a municipality in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is situated in the north of the province of Alicante. Parcent (; ) is a municipality in the Pop Valley of La Marina Alta in the Alicante Province, which is located in the Valencian region of Spain. Parcent has a population of about 1100 and is about one hour's drive north of the city of Alicante, and about an hour's drive south of the city of Valencia.
