Marian Horne
Marian Horne is a Canadian politician, who represented the rural Yukon electoral district of Pelly-Nisutlin in the Yukon Legislative Assembly from 2006 to 2011. She is a member of the Yukon Party. Political career Horne was elected to the Yukon Legislative Assembly for the rural Yukon riding of Pelly-Nisutlin on behalf of the Yukon Party in the 2006 Yukon election. Pelly-Nisutlin, though held by the Yukon Party, was being vacated when its incumbent MLA Dean Hassard opted to run in the downtown Whitehorse riding of Porter Creek South. Horne was elected comfortably on October 10, 2006, as part of Yukon Premier Dennis Fentie's re-elected majority government. After the election, Horne was appointed Minister of Justice in Fentie's Cabinet, and served in that position throughout the 32nd Legislative Assembly. Teslin, Yukon
The community of Teslin (Tlingit: ''Desleen'') includes the Village of Teslin in Yukon, Canada. Teslin is situated at historical Mile 804 on the Alaska Highway along Teslin Lake. The Hudson's Bay Company established a small trading post at Teslin in 1903 (i.e. Teslin Post). Teslin is home to the Teslin Inland Tlingit First Nations. The name Teslin came from a Tlingit word "Teslintoo." Teslin has one of the largest Native populations in Yukon. Much of the community's livelihood revolves around traditional hunting, trapping and fishing. Yukon College
Yukon University (formerly Yukon College) is a public university in the Canadian territory of Yukon. The university main campus is based in Whitehorse, although the institution also operates 12 campuses throughout the territory. The university confers bachelor's degrees, diplomas, certificates as well as trades and vocational training and adult basic education. Yukon Liberal Party
The Yukon Liberal Party (french: Parti libéral du Yukon) is a political party in the territory of Yukon, Canada. The party is not organizationally linked to the federal Liberal Party of Canada in any official manner. Sandy Silver, MLA for Klondike, is the Leader of the Yukon Liberal Party and Premier of Yukon. History After twenty years as a minor party, the Yukon Liberal Party won the 2000 general election and formed a government under Premier Pat Duncan. Elizabeth Hanson
Elizabeth Hanson (born 1951), also known as Liz Hanson, is a Canadian politician from the Yukon. She was the leader of the Yukon New Democratic Party from 2009 until 2019, and represented the electoral district of Whitehorse Centre in the Yukon Legislative Assembly from 2010 to 2021.
