"Brandy", later called "Mandy", is a song written by Scott English and Richard Kerr. It was originally recorded by English in 1971 and reached the top 20 of the UK Singles Chart. "Brandy" was recorded by New Zealand singer Bunny Walters in 1972, but achieved greater success when released in the United States in 1974 by Barry Manilow. Iván Mándy (23 December 1918 in Budapest – 6 October 1995 in Budapest) was a Hungary, Hungarian writer. Biography From 1945 on Mándy worked at the literary revue Újhold. After the Stalinist takeover he became a freelance writer. In 1989 he got again the chance to write for a literary newspaper. He was promoted as a candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1993 by the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. He died in 1995 in Budapest. ''Mandy'' is the only studio album by Mandy Smith. It was released by PWL in 1988, re-issued in 1993 in Japan and re-mastered and re-issued in 2009. Smith, who was already well-known in the British tabloids due to her relationship with Rolling Stones member Bill Wyman, which started when she was 13, became the very first artist signed to Pete Waterman's PWL Records in September 1986 when she was 16 years old, and began working with producers Stock, Aitken & Waterman for her first single, which was going to be a cover of the 1964 Twinkle hit "Terry".
