Malvinas Argentinas Partido is a '' partido'' in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, in the Gran Buenos Aires urban area. It has an area of and according to the preliminary results of the 2010 Census, the population was 321,833 inhabitants. (). Its name reflects Argentina's disputed claims of sovereignty over the Falkland Islands (''Islas Malvinas'' in Spanish). It was created on October 20, 1994 by Provincial Law #11551, taking some of the territory of former General Sarmiento Partido. Los Polvorines is its capital, founded on the Ferrocarril General Manuel Belgrano railway, along with the neighboring town of Del Viso. The union of the lands around these two train stations originated the district. By Decree #4520, the federal government on 17 December 1908, created the train stop ''Los Polvorines'', which name came from the ''Sargento Cabral'' munitions depot (''polvorín'' in Spanish), established by the Argentine Army nearby. Tortuguitas
Tortuguitas is a city in Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina, located northwest of Buenos Aires. The city is located in Malvinas Argentinas Partido (county), and its population was 41,390 inhabitants as of the 2001 Census. Part of a vast estancia in colonial times owned by Alonso de Escobar, the land was bought in 1925 by the Blas País family when the Córdoba Central Railway was built though the area in 1925. Grand Bourg is a city in Malvinas Argentinas Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It forms part of the Greater Buenos Aires agglomeration. Toponymy Grand Bourg is named after the French commune of Grand-Bourg, where the leader of the Argentine War of Independence, General José de San Martín, lived in exile.
