Mürren Railway Station
Mürren is a railway station and terminus of the Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen-Mürren, a hybrid aerial lift, cable car and rail link that connects it with the village of Lauterbrunnen in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. It takes its name from the resort village of Mürren in which it is situated. The station has two passenger tracks within the lower level of a two-level station building, with a street entrance at the upper level. The Lauterbrunnen-Mürren line also handles goods traffic to and from Mürren, and a freight depot is situated to the north of the passenger station. The station is served by the following passenger trains: Between 1894 and the 1930s, Mürren station was linked to the Kurhaus in Mürren village by the Mürren tramway, a long, gauge, horse-drawn tramway. Lauterbrunnen () is a village and Municipalities of Switzerland, municipality in the Interlaken-Oberhasli (administrative district), Interlaken-Oberhasli administrative district in the Cantons of Switzerland, canton of Canton of Bern, Bern in Switzerland. The Bernese Oberland (; ; ), sometimes also known as the Bernese Highlands, is the highest and southernmost part of the canton of Bern. Mürren
Mürren is a traditional Walser mountain village in the Bernese Highlands of Switzerland, at an elevation of above sea level. It cannot be reached by public road. It is also one of the popular tourist spots in Switzerland, and summer and winter are the seasons when Mürren becomes busy with tourists. The village features a view of the three towering mountains Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Mürren has a year-round population of 450, but has 2,000 hotel beds. Lauterbrunnen Railway Station
Lauterbrunnen is a railway station in the village and municipality of Lauterbrunnen in the Swiss canton of Bern. The station is on the Berner Oberland Bahn (BOB), whose trains operate services to Interlaken Ost. It is also the valley terminus of the Wengernalpbahn (WAB), whose trains operate to Kleine Scheidegg via Wengen, and of the Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen-Mürren (BLM), whose hybrid cable car and rail link runs to Mürren. Before 2006, this was a funicular ( Seilbahn Lauterbrunnen–Grütschalp). The BOB and WAB lines use different gauges, and there is no physical connection between them. Grütschalp Railway Station
Grütschalp is a railway station on the Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen-Mürren, a hybrid cable car and rail link that connects the villages of Lauterbrunnen and Mürren in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. Grütschalp is the point of interchange between the cable car from Lauterbrunnen and the high-level railway from Mürren. The Lauterbrunnen-Mürren line opened in 1891, but until 2006 the connection between Lauterbrunnen and Grütschalp was affected by Seilbahn Lauterbrunnen–Grütschalp, a funicular railway. The current cable car replaced this when the funicular was damaged by landslides, and uses the same route and adapted terminal stations.
