Truls Mørk
Truls Olaf Otterbech Mørk (born 25 April 1961) is a Norwegian cellist. Biography Mørk was born in Bergen, Norway to a cellist father, John Fritjof Mørk, and a pianist mother, Turid Otterbech. His mother began teaching him the piano when he was seven. Mørk also played the violin, but soon switched to the cello, taking lessons from his father. Mørk began his studies with Frans Helmerson at 17 at Edsberg Music Institute. An admirer of Mstislav Rostropovich and the Russian school of cello, Mørk went on to study with the Russian cellist Natalia Shakhovskaya. In 1982, Mørk became the first Scandinavian musician to reach the finals of the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow since Arto Noras in 1966, and won the sixth prize. He subsequently went on to win second prize at the 1986 Naumburg Competition in New York City and, in 1986, the Cassado Cello Competition in Florence. Marie Mørk
Anna Marie Frederikke Mørk (14 April 1861, Copenhagen—30 May 1944, Hillerød) was a Danish schoolteacher who is remembered for establishing a girls school in Hillerød in 1895. With the assistance of her sisters, she ran the school for over 40 years, introducing innovative pedagogical ideas. For her efforts, in 1920, she was honoured with the Golden Medal of Merit. The school continues to operate as a private school today. Nora Mørk (born 5 April 1991) is a Norwegian handball player for Team Esbjerg and the Norway women's national handball team, Norwegian national team. She made her debut on the Norwegian national team on 21 September 2010. Before joining Team Esbjerg, she played for Bækkelaget, Aalborg DH, Njård, Larvik, Győr, CSM București and Vipers Kristiansand. Her achievements include winning the Women's EHF Champions League, EHF Champions League six times with three clubs. Edward Mørk
Edward Mørk (28 November 1888 – 1962) was a Norway, Norwegian trade unionist and politician for the Norwegian Labour Party, Labour Party. Biography He was a typographer by profession but entered politics via the Norges Socialdemokratiske Ungdomsforbund in 1906. He was the national leader of the organization in 1909, 1911, and 1914. He then chaired ''Oslo Faglige Samorg'' from 1920 to 1932 and was also a secretariat member of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions from 1925 to 1927. He was a proponent of local trade union confederations (). At the 1923 Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions congress, he proposed that fourteen representatives from the local confederations get a place in the supervisory council. The proposal was voted down with 102 against 101 votes. From 1932 on, he led the Employment Office () in Oslo. Torbjørn Mork
Torbjørn Mork (17 November 1928 – 16 October 1992) was a Norwegian physician and civil servant. He was born in Odda as a son of Guttorm Mork (1897–1974) and Inga Skadsem (1894–1950). He took the examen artium in 1948 and graduated with the cand.med. degree from the University of Bergen in 1954. After working as a physician in Arendal, Herdla and Haukeland, he got a World Health Organization scholarship to study at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. In 1960 he took the PhD degree there with the thesis ''A Comparative Study of Respiratory Diseases in England, Wales and Norway''. In 1960 he was hired in the Cancer Registry of Norway. He was promoted to assisting chief physician in 1966. He left the Cancer Registry in 1971 to become State Secretary in the Ministry of Social Affairs.
