Møllevang Church
Møllevang Church () is a church in Aarhus, Denmark. The church is situated in the Fuglebakken neighborhood on the street Fuglesangs Alle, north of Ring 1, in Western Aarhus. Møllevang Church is a part of the Church of Denmark, the Danish state church, and is the parish church of Møllevang Parish. The church serves some 9000 parishioners and holds weekly sermons as well as weddings, burials and baptisms. Møllevang Church was constructed on the initiative of pastor Axel Hjeresen who formed a committee when it became apparent it was necessary to split St. Markus Parish. Funds for the church were contributed by the parishioners of the new Møllevang Parish and public funds from the Danish state while Aarhus Municipality contributed the land. The church was raised quickly; construction was initiated 24 June 1958 and on 21 June 1959 the new church was inaugurated. The architect C.F. Aarhus Vest (lit.: Aarhus West) or Aarhus V, is a postal district in the city of Aarhus, consisting of Hasle, Herredsvang, Møllevangen and Frydenlund. Diocese Of Aarhus
The Diocese of Aarhus (Danish language, Danish: ''Århus Stift'') is one of 10 dioceses in the Church of Denmark, with headquarters in the city of Aarhus. The diocese covers a large district of northeast Jutland and comprises 14 deanery, deaneries, of which four cover the extent of Aarhus city itself. History The diocese dates back to 948, when Adam of Bremen noted that Reginbrand, bishop of Aarhus, attended the synod of Ingelheim in Germany. It is not known if the diocese was established earlier or to what extent it functioned in Aarhus. Christianity still only enjoyed a tentative position in Denmark at the time and it is likely the diocese was created in part for missionary purposes and in part to demonstrate for the pope that the Archbishopric of Bremen was successfully converting the peoples in Scandinavia. Aarhus
Aarhus (, , ; officially spelled Århus from 1948 until 1 January 2011) is the second-largest city in Denmark and the seat of Aarhus municipality, Aarhus Municipality. Ring 1 (Aarhus)
Ring 1, or ''Ringgaden'', is a ring road that surrounds the most central part of Aarhus, Denmark, roughly bounding the neighborhood of Midtbyen. It is part of the Danish national road network and is numbered O1, denoting a ring road. The total length of the road is about 8.8 km. Aarhus Municipality (), known as Århus Municipality () until 2011, is a ''Municipalities of Denmark, kommune'' in the Central Denmark Region, on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark.
