Hans Möser
Hans Karl Moeser (April 7, 1906 – November 26, 1948) was a German SS functionary during the Nazi era who served at the Neuengamme, Auschwitz and Mittelbau-Dora concentration camps. He was captured at the end of the war and tried by the United States Military Government Court. The only one among 19 defendants at the Dora Trial sentenced to death, Möser was executed at Landsberg Prison in 1948. SS career Möser was born in Darmstadt, Germany. A merchant by trade, he joined the Nazi Party in October 1929 (Member No. 155301) and the SS in July 1931 (Member No. 9555). In July 1940 Möser joined the staff at the newly opened SS-Hinzert concentration camp, infamous for its brutality, and later he transferred to Neuengamme. From May 1943 until October 1943 he was posted to the Auschwitz III Monowitz concentration camp as Kompanieführer of the Wachbataillon (Guard Battalion) in IG Farben's "Buna" plant. James Charles Moeser (born April 3, 1939) is a musician and university administrator who served as the ninth chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a trained concert organist. A native of Colorado City, Texas, Moeser earned bachelor's and master's degrees in music from the University of Texas at Austin and a doctorate from the University of Michigan. Justus Möser
Justus Möser (14 December 1720 – 8 January 1794) was a German jurist, social theorist, and conservative commentator best known for his innovative history of Osnabrück which stressed social and cultural themes. Möser is generally seen as the founder of German Conservatism Biography Möser was born in Osnabrück. Having studied law at the universities of Jena and Göttingen, he settled in his native town as a lawyer and was soon appointed ''advocatus patriae'' ( state attorney) by his fellow citizens. From 1762 to 1768 he was ''justiciarius'' (chief justice) of the criminal court in Osnabrück, and in 1768 was made Geheimer Referendar (privy councillor of justice). For 20 years, he was the legal adviser of the lay Protestant bishop of Osnabrück, Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany, a son of George III of the United Kingdom and of his Queen consort Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Ron Moeser
Ronald Moeser (October 15, 1942 – April 18, 2017) was a Canadian politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a city councillor for Ward 44 in Scarborough from 1988 to 1997 and then a councillor for the amalgamated city of Toronto from 1998 to 2003 and then 2006 until his death in 2017. Biography Moeser was born in Germany and moved to Canada after the end of World War II, becoming a citizen by the mid-1950s. He moved to West Rouge area of Scarborough in 1981. He was a longtime marathon runner in his youth. Moeser was elected to what was then the Scarborough City Council in 1988 representing the West Rouge community. He sat on Scarborough City Council for nine years and chaired the Waterfront committee. Moeser and his wife Heather played an active role in the preservation of the Rouge Valley.
