Mònica Dòria
Mònica Dòria Vilarrubla (born 4 December 1999) is an Andorran slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2014. Mònica was the flagbearer for Andorra at the 2020 Summer Olympics and at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Career Dòria won a bronze medal in Kayak cross at the 2022 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Augsburg. She also won a gold medal in the C1 event at the 2025 European Championships in Vaires-sur-Marne. At the 2020 Olympics, she finished 16th in the K1 event and 11th in the C1 event after being eliminated in the semifinals of both. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Dòria competed in the K1 event, kayak cross and the C1 event, finishing in 22nd place, 15th place and 6th place respectively. She won a gold medal in the C1 event at the 2017 Junior European Championships in Hohenlimburg, Germany. Canoeing At The 2020 Summer Olympics
Canoeing was a sport at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, and was contested in two main disciplines: canoe slalom, which took place from 25 to 30 July 2021, and canoe sprint, from 2 to 7 August. The slalom competitions will be held at the Kasai Canoe Slalom Course; whereas the sprint events will be staged at Sea Forest Waterway. The competition featured 16 events. The programme saw four event changes, all replacements, from 2016. In sprint, the men's C-1 200 metres and men's K-2 200 metres were replaced with women's C-1 200 metres and women's C-2 500 metres. In slalom, the men's C-2 was removed. Women's C-1 was added. These three changes were part of the Olympics' move towards gender equality. In addition, the sprint men's K-4 1000 metres was replaced with a shorter race, the men's K-4 500 metres. Segre Olympic Park
Parc Olímpic del Segre is a canoeing and kayaking facility in La Seu d'Urgell, Catalonia, Spain, built in 1990 for use during the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. The competition whitewater course is 300 m long, with a 6.5 m drop, making a 2.2% slope of 114 ft/mile or 22 m/km. The natural flow of the Segre River is diverted through the course by a diversion dam upstream. In low flow conditions, four 300-kilowatt recirculation pumps can add up to 12 m3/s to the course flow, in order to increase it to the course maximum of 17.5 m3/s. When the course is not being used, or when the natural flow exceeds 17.5 m3/s, the pumps are reversed and run in turbine mode to generate electricity for the town. 2019 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships
The 2019 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships were the 40th edition of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships. The event took place from 24 to 29 September 2019 in La Seu d'Urgell, Catalonia, Spain under the auspices of International Canoe Federation (ICF). The events took place at the Segre Olympic Park which also hosted the canoe slalom events at the 1992 Summer Olympics. La Seu d'Urgell hosted the championships for the third time after previously hosting the event in 1999 and 2009. As is traditional in a pre-Olympic year, the Championships also doubled as the primary qualification event for the 2020 Summer Olympics.
