Asociación Deportiva Mérida, Sociedad Anónima Deportiva, S.A.D. is a List of football clubs in Spain, Spanish football club based in Mérida, Spain, Mérida, in the autonomous community of Extremadura. Founded in 2013 it is a successor club of CP Mérida, it currently plays in Primera División RFEF – Group 1. History The club was founded on 19 February 2013 and six days later, it was registered in General Registry of Sports Entities of Extremadura. Mérida UD was dissolved later in 2013 and Mérida AD bought their place in Tercera División. On 30 May 2015, the club was promoted to Segunda División B after defeating CD Laredo 2–1 on aggregate in the 2015 Tercera División play-offs, playoffs. On 27 August that year, the team competed in the Copa del Rey for the first time, losing 0–3 at home to Peña Sport FC in the opening round. The 2022 Segunda División RFEF play-offs (Playoffs de Ascenso or Promoción de Ascenso) were the final play-offs for promotion from 2021–22 Segunda División RFEF to the 2022–23 Primera División RFEF. Venues On 11 March 2022, the Province of Alicante was announced as the venue for the promotion play-off, initially the cities of Alicante and La Nucía were confirmed. 2021–22 Segunda División RFEF
The 2021–22 Segunda División RFEF season was the first for the Segunda División RFEF, the new fourth highest level in the Spanish football league system. It supplanted Tercera División, which downgraded to the fifth tier as Tercera División RFEF and succeeded the old Segunda División B, which was replaced by Primera División RFEF as the third level of the pyramid. Ninety teams will participate, divided into five groups of eighteen clubs each based on geographical proximity. In each group, the champions automatically promoted to Primera División RFEF, and the second to fifth placers will play promotion play-offs. The 2019 Tercera División play-offs to Segunda División B from Tercera División (Promotion play-offs) were the final playoffs for the promotion from 2018–19 Tercera División to 2019–20 Segunda División B. The 2018 Segunda División B play-offs (Playoffs de Ascenso or Promoción de Ascenso) are the final playoffs for promotion from 2017–18 Segunda División B to the 2018–19 Segunda División.
