Märkisches Viertel (Alt-Hohenschönhausen)
Märkisches Viertel (, ''MV'') is a German locality (''Ortsteil'') in the Boroughs of Berlin, borough (''Bezirk'') of Reinickendorf in Berlin. Its name refers to the Margraviate of Brandenburg, March of Brandenburg (). Overview It consists of a large housing estate of about 17,000 apartments with chains of high-rises up to 18 floors that were built from 1964 to 1974 by the ''GeSoBau Gesellschaft für sozialen Wohnungsbau'' (Association for Social Apartment Construction). Originally a part of Wittenau, it became an officially recognized locality of its own in 1999. To the east it shares its border with the Rosenthal (Berlin), Rosenthal and Wilhelmsruh localities of the Pankow borough, from which it was separated by the Berlin Wall until 1989. Margraviate Of Brandenburg
The Margraviate of Brandenburg () was a major principality of the Holy Roman Empire from 1157 to 1806 that, having electoral status although being quite poor, grew rapidly in importance after inheriting the Duchy of Prussia in 1618 and then came to play a pivotal role in the history of Germany and that of Central Europe as core of the Kingdom of Prussia, Prussian kingdom. Wittenau () is a German locality (''Ortsteil'') within the borough (''Bezirk'') of Reinickendorf, Berlin. History Originally named Dalldorf it was first mentioned in 1332. In 1869 the city of Berlin had acquired land in the Dalldorf in order to build the ''Städtische Irrenanstalt zu Dalldorf'' (Municipal Mental Asylum at Dalldorf), today's Karl-Bonhoeffer-Nervenklinik (Karl Bonhoeffer mental home), between 1877 and 1879. Rosenthal (Berlin)
Rosenthal () is an affluent locality within the Berlin borough of Pankow. The old village first mentioned in a 1356 deed as ''Rosendalle'' became a part of Greater Berlin in 1920. Overview The Rosenthal locality includes the Nordend (North End) neighborhood. Every year the people of Rosenthal celebrate the ''Rosenthaler Herbst'' (Rosenthal Autumn), which is completely organised by the "Bürgerverein Dorf Rosenthal e. V.", a registered, non-commercial and non-profit citizens' organisation. Most of the meetings and conference are held at the old restaurant Dittmann's. It is the only traditional restaurant that is left in Rosenthal and lasted for over 120 years since 1892. It was founded by Wilhelm Dittmann. Wilhelmsruh
Wilhelmsruh () is a German locality (''Ortsteil'') within the borough (''Bezirk'') of Pankow, Berlin. It is the city's smallest locality, after Halensee and Hansaviertel. History In the locality, originally part of Rosenthal, it was built a country house named ''Nordend'' which received occasionally the designation name ''Rosenthal II''. In 1892 the settlement received the name of ''Colonie Wilhelmsruh''. As part of Nordend municipality (now a zone of Rosenthal), it merged into Berlin in 1920 with the "Greater Berlin Act". During the "Cold War" it was part of East Berlin bordering with the western sector, and it was crossed by the Berlin Wall from 1961 to 1989. Pankow () is the second largest and most populous Boroughs and quarters of Berlin, borough of the German capital Berlin. The Berlin Wall (, ) was a guarded concrete Separation barrier, barrier that encircled West Berlin from 1961 to 1989, separating it from East Berlin and the East Germany, German Democratic Republic (GDR; East Germany). Construction of the Berlin Wall was commenced by the government of the GDR on 13 August 1961. Sido (rapper)
Paul Hartmut Würdig (born 30 November 1980), better known as Sido, is a German rapper. He interprets his stage name as "super-intelligentes Drogenopfer" (super-intelligent drug victim). It originally stood for "Scheiße in dein Ohr" (shit into your ear), a line from his track "Terroarr". Sido is known for his provocative and aggressive lyrics. After gaining prominence with his debut album ''Maske'' in 2004, he became recognisable for wearing a silver skull mask. However, he stopped wearing the mask in 2005. Würdig's career began in 1997 as one half of the duo Royal TS (now Alles ist die Sekte, A.i.d.S) with B-Tight. Aggro Berlin was a German hip-hop independent record label based in Berlin that existed from 1 January 2001 until 1 April 2009. Three artists ( Sido, Tony D and Kitty Kat) were signed with the label at the time of its closure. "Aggro" is German slang for having an aggressive attitude (as in British English). History The label was founded on 1 January 2001 by Berlin rappers Specter, Spaiche and Halil. The first signed artists were Sido and B-Tight. Later, the label also signed Bushido. The same year it released EP ''Das Mic und ich'' by A.i.d.S (formerly Royal TS) on the label, which was the first release of Aggro Berlin.
