Mária Pozsonec
Mária Pozsonec (16 January 1940 – 3 April 2017) was a Slovenian politician of Hungarian ethnicity. Between 1990 and 2008, she served as representative of the Hungarian national community in the National Assembly of Slovenia. She was born to Hungarian parents in the village of Dolga Vas () near Lendava, in what was then the Drava Banovina of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (now in Slovenia). She attended the high school in Subotica (Serbia), and studied pedagogy at the University of Maribor, in Slovenia. She worked as an elementary school teacher in her native region of Prekmurje. During the 1980s, she emerged as an activist of the Hungarian minority in Slovenia. Prekmurje
Prekmurje (; Prekmurje Slovene: ''Prèkmürsko'' or ''Prèkmüre''; ) is a geographically, linguistically, culturally, and ethnically defined region of Slovenia, settled by Slovenes and a Hungarians in Slovenia, Hungarian minority, lying between the Mur River in Slovenia and the Rába Valley (the Drainage basin, watershed of the Rába (river), Rába; ) in the westernmost part of Hungary. It covers an area of and has a population of 78,000 people. Its largest town and urban center is Murska Sobota, the other urban center being Lendava. László Göncz
László Göncz (born 13 April 1960) is a Hungarian historian and politician in Slovenia. He is currently serving in the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia as the official representative of the Hungarian national community in Slovenia. He was born in Murska Sobota, then part of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia in former Yugoslavia. He spent his childhood in the bilingual border town of Lendava, where he attended elementary school. He studied history at the University of Pécs in Hungary. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, he worked as a historian and cultural activist of the Hungarian minority in the region of Prekmurje. The National Assembly (, or ; short form ''državni zbor'') is the Representative democracy, general representative body of Slovenia. According to the Constitution of Slovenia and the Constitutional Court of Slovenia, it is the major part of the distinctively incompletely bicameralism, bicameral Slovenian Parliament, the legislature, legislative branch of the Republic of Slovenia. It has 90 members, elected for a four-year term. 88 members are elected using the party-list proportional representation system and the remaining two, using the Borda count, by the Slovenia#Languages, Hungarian and Italian-speaking ethnic minorities, who have an absolute veto in matters concerning their ethnic groups.
