National Blue Trail
The National Blue Trail (in Hungarian: ''Országos Kéktúra'', short: ''OKT'') is a national trail in Hungary, for most of its length part of the European Long Distance Walking Route E4. The route starts atop the Írott-kő Mountain (884 m) on the Austrian-Hungarian border then leads across Hungary eventually ending 1,170 km later at the village of Hollóháza by the Hungarian-Slovakian border. (Interactive map'). The name of the Kéktúra (Blue Trail) is a reference to the marking of the path itself: it is a horizontal blue stripe on a white rectangle. All segments of the trail are freely accessible to the public; no fees have to be paid or permits obtained, there is only one ferry to take over the Danube between Visegrád and Nagymaros where you have to purchase a ticket. Bükk Mountains
The Bükk Mountains () are a section of the North Hungarian Mountains of the Inner Western Carpathians. Much of the area is included in the Bükk National Park. Kazincbarcika
Kazincbarcika is an industrial town in Borsod–Abaúj–Zemplén county, Northern Hungary. It is the district seat of Kazincbarcika District. It lies in the valley of the Sajó river, from the county capital, Miskolc. History Kazincbarcika was created during the Socialist industrialization, when several villages were unified with the aim of creating an industrial city to provide workers for the newly built Borsodi Vegyi Kombinát (a predecessor of today's BorsodChem). The village of ''Sajókazinc'' was first mentioned in 1240. It was a mainly agricultural village until 1850, when the first coal mine was opened. The village of Barcika came into existence with the unification of two villages, Upper- and Lower-Barcika. Tardona
Tardona is a village in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, Northern Hungary, about from the county capital Miskolc. History Tardona was first mentioned in written documents in 1240 as ''Turduna'', it was most likely a village of Castle Dédes. During the 14th century, the settlement along with Castle Dédes got into the hands of the Palóczi Family. Reformed Church of Tardona The Reformed Church of Tardona was built between 1786 and 1788 with the tower being finished later in 1811. On 19 October 1875, the original Church has burned down along with all the other buildings of the Church. Most of the important documents about the settlement were kept in the church this event lead to the lack of information about the settlements past.
