Máighréad Medbh
Máighréad Medbh (born 1959) is an Irish writer and poet. Life and work Born in 1959 in Newcastle West, County Limerick, Medbh now lives in Dublin. She is known as a performative poet and much of her focus has been on live performance since the 1990s, when she was a pioneer in the Irish performance renascence. She has published eight poetry collections and a mixed genre work, as well as three e-novels. She has won awards, including the Single Poem Prize Listowel Writers’ Week 2016, for 'Easter 2016,' and her verse fantasy, ''Parvit of Agelast'', was shortlisted for the Pigott Poetry Prize in 2017. She has been awarded a bursary from the Irish Arts Council, and has had several school residencies. Newcastle West
Newcastle West () or simply Newcastle (''An Caisleán Nua'', formerly anglicised Castlenoe) is a town in west County Limerick, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It is the largest town in the county, excluding Limerick city. It is also the county town and sits on the River Arra, which flows into the River Deel. Newcastle West is in the middle of a great bowl-shaped valley in West Limerick, known one time as the valley of the Wild Boar, apparently due to the abundance of this animal here when the area was thickly wooded. Listowel ( ; , ) is a heritage market town in County Kerry, Ireland. It is on the River Feale, from the county town, Tralee. Deirdre Brennan
Deirdre Brennan (born 1934) is a bilingual Irish poet, playwright and short story writer who writes both in the Irish language and in English. Biography Brennan was born in Dublin and was raised in County Tipperary where she attended schools in Clonmel and Thurles. She studied English and Latin at University College Dublin, then undertaking a Higher Diploma in Education. She moved to Carlow in 1965. Brennan taught at St Patrick's College, Carlow. She began writing in Irish after co-founding the Éigse Carlow Arts Festival in 1979. She has published sixteen books to date, including twelve collections of poetry. She was awarded an Oireachtas Prize for , and won the Farmgate Café National Poetry Award in 2023 with ''Medea's Cauldron''. She collaborated with writers Máighréad Medbh and Nuala Ní Chonchúir on ''Divas!'' (2003), a volume of poetry, which was launched during Éigse by Olivia O'Leary. Nuala Ní Chonchúir
Nuala Ní Chonchúir (born 14 January 1970) is an Irish writer and poet. Biography Born in Dublin in 1970, Nuala Ní Chonchúir is a full-time fiction writer and poet, is living in County Galway. She holds a BA in Irish from Trinity College Dublin and a Masters in Translation Studies (Irish/English) from Dublin City University. She has worked as an arts administrator in theatre and in a writers' centre; as a translator, as a bookseller and also in a university library. Nuala teaches creative writing on a part-time basis. Ní Chonchúir was featured in ''The Irish Times'' "People to watch in the year ahead" on Saturday 3 January 2009. Works Ní Chonchúir has published five novels, four collections of short fiction and three poetry collections - one in an anthology.
