''My Heart Has a Wish That You Would Not Go'' is the fourth and final studio album by Scottish band Aereogramme. The band drew the album name from the 1971 William Peter Blatty novel, '' The Exorcist''. It was released on 5 February 2007 in the UK and Europe by Chemikal Underground, and on 6 February 2007 in North America by Sonic Unyon. The album was preceded by the single "Barriers" on 29 January 2007, which was released on 7" vinyl with the exclusive B-side "Dissolve". Vocalist Craig B. revealed that the delay between ''My Heart Has a Wish'' and the band's previous release, 2004's ''Seclusion'', was partly due to losing his singing voice for six months. Referring to the album's vocals, Craig B. stated in a 2010 interview with '' The Skinny'' that, "By the time we got to ''My Heart Has a Wish'', I just didn't feel like screaming anymore. Aereogramme were a Scottish alternative rock band from Glasgow, formed in 1998, consisting of Craig B. (vocals, guitar), Iain Cook (guitar, programming), Campbell McNeil (bass) and Martin Scott (drums). Prior to their split in 2007, the band released four studio albums. Biography Formed in April 1998, the band released two 7" singles in 1999 before signing to Chemikal Underground in early 2000, at which point they recorded two EPs before releasing their first full-length, '' A Story in White'', in 2001. Iain Cook
Iain Andrew Cook (born 2 November 1974) is a Scottish musician, composer, record producer, and member of Glasgow-based pop band Chvrches. He played guitar for the Scottish post-rock band Aereogramme until their breakup in 2007. Cook also composes music for film and television and is a member of the rock band The Unwinding Hours. Biography Prior to the formation of Aereogramme, Cook, who was using the alias Johnny Dymes, was a member of Les Tinglies. In 1998, Cook founded Aereogramme with Craig B., Campbell McNeil and Martin Scott. The band released their debut album '' A Story in White'' in 2001, through Chemikal Underground record label. The band's second album, '' Sleep and Release'' (2003) was followed by ''Seclusion'' in (2004). Slayer was an American thrash metal band from Huntington Park, California. The band was formed in 1981 by guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, drummer Dave Lombardo and bassist/vocalist Tom Araya. The Exorcist (novel)
''The Exorcist'' is a 1971 horror novel by American writer William Peter Blatty. The book details the demonic possession of eleven-year-old Regan MacNeil, the daughter of a famous actress, and the two priests who attempt to exorcise the demon. Published by Harper & Row, the novel was the basis of a highly successful film adaptation released two years later, whose screenplay was also written and produced by Blatty, and part of ''The Exorcist'' franchise. The novel was inspired by a 1949 case of supposed demonic possession and exorcism that Blatty heard about while he was a student in the class of 1950 at Georgetown University. As a result, the novel takes place in Washington, D.C., near the campus of Georgetown University. William Peter Blatty
William Peter Blatty (January 7, 1928 – January 12, 2017) was an American writer, director and producer. He is best known for his 1971 novel, '' The Exorcist'', and for his 1974 screenplay for the film adaptation of the same name. Blatty won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for ''The Exorcist'', and was nominated for Best Picture as its producer. The film also earned Blatty a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Drama as producer. Born and raised in New York City, Blatty received his bachelor's degree in English from Georgetown University in 1950, and his master's degree in English literature from the George Washington University.
