My-HiME
is a Japanese anime television series produced by Bandai Namco Filmworks, Sunrise. Directed by Masakazu Obara and written by Hiroyuki Yoshino (screenwriter), Hiroyuki Yoshino, it premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo from September 2004 to March 2005. The series focuses on the lives of HiMEs—girls with the capacity to materialize photons—gathered at Fuka Academy for secret purposes. The series was licensed for North American distribution by Bandai Entertainment and European distribution by Bandai's European subsidiary, Beez, with the first American DVD released in March 2006. Bandai released the Complete Collection DVD set in America on October 7, 2008. It is also shown on iaTV in the mid-2000s and on Comcast’s Anime Selects on Demand for a limited time. My-HiME (manga)
is a Japanese manga series based on a Sunrise Inc., Sunrise's ''My-HiME'' series, it is following a storyline different from that of the anime. It is authored by Hajime Yatate (original creator), Noboru Kimura (scenario), and Kenetsu Satō (art). It was published for 44 chapters in Akita Shoten's Shōnen manga, ''shōnen'' manga magazine ''Weekly Shōnen Champion'' from 2004 to 2005. It was licensed for English released in North America by Tokyopop. Plot The manga follows the story of Yuuichi Tate, a recent transfer student to Fuka Academy. At Fuka, he finds out that he is the Key - the person needed to unlock greater powers - to two HiMEs, Mai Tokiha and Natsuki Kuga. The manga covers Yuuichi's relationship with the two girls as well as their battle against an organization attempting to take the power of the HiME Star for themselves. My-Otome
is a Japanese anime television series produced by Sunrise. Directed by Masakazu Obara and written by Hiroyuki Yoshino, it is a spinoff of the '' My-HiME'' anime series and as such ''My-Otome'' takes place in a new setting with new main characters. The series originally premiered on TV Tokyo from October 6, 2005 to March 30, 2006. An OVA sequel to the series, '' My-Otome Zwei'', has been made and released in Japan, and a prequel, '' My-Otome 0: S.ifr'', has been completed. The series was licensed for North American distribution by Bandai Entertainment. Zwei leaves the story open for future sequels, and Sifr for future prequels. is a Japanese entertainment company owned by Bandai Namco Holdings with its business focused on production, planning, and management of anime. It was founded in September 1972 by former Mushi Production staff as the animation studio branch of . is a Japanese OVA anime series, created by Sunrise. Directed by Masakazu Obara and written by Hiroyuki Yoshino, it consists of four episodes, which were released across three-month intervals and is the sequel to the original ''My-Otome'' anime series. It is published in Japan by Bandai Visual and North America initially by Bandai Entertainment. Hiroyuki Yoshino (screenwriter)
is a Japanese screenwriter. He has written several anime series for Sunrise, including ''My-HiME'' and ''My-Otome''. Biography Yoshino graduated from Waseda University's school of literature and later joined the staff of Tokuma Shoten's ''Animage'' magazine as a writer. It was here that the Sunrise producer Naotake Furusato offered him a position in the studio as screenwriter. After joining Sunrise, his first project as the head writer responsible for series composition was '' Mai-HiME'', whose follow-ups '' Mai-Otome'' and '' Mai-Otome Zwei'' he also went on to supervise. He authored the manga adaptation of ''Mai-Otome'' (along with Tatsuhito Higuchi) and went on to write numerous other manga series. is a Japanese composer, arranger and music producer.
