MxPx () is an American punk rock band from Bremerton, Washington, formed in 1992 as Magnified Plaid. As of 2016, current members include Mike Herrera (bass guitar, lead vocals), Yuri Ruley (drums, percussion), Tom Wisniewski (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Chris Adkins (rhythm guitar, backing vocals). Pokinatcha is the debut studio album by American punk rock band MxPx released on October 26, 1994, through Tooth & Nail Records. The album reflects influence from skate/surf punk, and underground punk generally. The album's name came from a Snickers candy bar commercial, which included an ad jingle saying hunger is "poking at you". The songs are characterized by their raw punk sound, catchy rhythm, and classic punk three-chord guitar style. It is the only MxPx album to include original guitarist Andy Husted. Skate punk (also known as skatecore and skate rock) is a skateboarding, skater subculture and punk rock Music genre, subgenre that developed in the 1980s. Originally a form of hardcore punk that had been closely associated with skate culture, skate punk evolved into a more melodic genre of punk rock in the 1990s similar to pop punk. Central Kitsap High School is a secondary school located in Silverdale, Washington, United States. It is one of seven secondary schools in the Central Kitsap School District. CKHS teaches grades 09–12. CKHS was for the first time ranked in the top 2% of the nation academically in 1984 and has continued to be through the 2015–2016 school year.
