Musikhochschule Münster
The ''Musikhochschule Münster'' (Münster School of Music) founded in 1972, is a university of music, part of the University of Münster, it is one of the five music universities in North Rhine-Westphalia. The ''Musikhochschule Münster'' now comprises 220 students, 15 professors (from Germany, Brazil, Holland and Norway) and 65 part-time instructors. The Symphony Orchestra is the largest ensemble of the Musikhochschule Münster. Past music directors included Joachim Harder, Geoffrey Moull and René Gulikers. The present conductor is Christian Lorenz. History From 1972 to 2003 the ''Musikhochschule Münster'' was integrated as a campus of the ''Hochschule für Musik Detmold''. In 2004 the ''Musikhochschule Münster'' separated from Detmold and on the basis of the revision of the Hochschule law passed on 16 December 2003 became the Faculty of Music of the University of Münster on 1 April 2004. Münster (; ) is an independent city#Germany, independent city (''Kreisfreie Stadt'') in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The University of Münster (, until 2023 , WWU) is a public research university located in the city of Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. Joachim Harder
Joachim was, according to Sacred tradition, the husband of Saint Anne, the father of Mary (mother of Jesus), and the maternal grandfather of Jesus. Geoffrey Moull
Geoffrey Moull is a Canadian professional conductor. He was principal conductor of the Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra and music director of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. Education Geoffrey Moull was born in London, Ontario, Canada and studied conducting with Kirill Kondrashin, Sergiu Celibidache and Martin Stephani. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in performance from McGill University and post-graduate degrees in conducting and piano from the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in Germany. Career Moull was Principal Conductor and coach of the Trier Opera and Symphony Orchestra in Germany from 1986 to 1989, conducting both opera and concert performances, and was additionally responsible for the development of music education programs and school concerts. The Hochschule für Musik Detmold is a university-level music school situated in Detmold, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Academics The Hochschule offers performance degrees in composition, all orchestral instruments, piano, voice, opera, art-song, conducting, as well as degrees in church music and music education. Mungonzazal Janshindulam ( ''Yanjindulamyn Möngöntsatsal''; 1972–2007), also known as "Mungo", was a Mongolian pianist and music teacher who lived and taught until her death in Düsseldorf and Dortmund, Germany. She was the first Mongolian pianist to have widespread European fame and won multiple piano competition awards. It is unknown how she died. Life As a young child, Mungo already showed a huge interest in music, particularly in playing the piano. At eight years of age, her mother brought her to the music and choreography school in Ulan Bator so she could learn.
