Murr Dedi, also referred to as ''Murr Deti'', is a mysterious figure in Albanian history which is claimed to be the progenitor of various different tribes including the Shoshi (tribe), Shoshi, Mirdita, Berisha (tribe), Berisha, Mërturi and Shala (tribe), Shala tribes. His name and folklore have brought up many theories surrounding his origins and nature, yet there are no conclusions which may be definitevley drawn. Name The name of Murr Dedi has multiple theories of its own. The first name may refer to Albanian ''murr'', "dark, gloomy". This is put together with ''Dedi'', which may be the name of the figures father, following Albanian naming tradition, or may come from a word such as ''dedë'', "ancestor, progenitor". Similar words are seen in multiple other languages, such as Serbo-Croatian ''djed'', "grandfather", and Turkish ''dede'', "grandfather", both of which are thought to come from different sources. Shoshi (tribe)
Shoshi is a historical Albanian tribe (''fis'') and region of northern Albania in the lower Shala valley. Shoshi is first recorded as a small settlement in 1485. The fis itself traces its origin to the brothers Gjol and Pep Suma. The community of their descendants gradually grew to control part of the Dukagjin highlands. In the 19th century Shoshi also became a bajrak. Geography The Shoshi region stands in north-western Albania, in Shkodër County. It stands about 52 km away from the city of Shkodra. In terms of regional boundaries, Shoshi stands south of Shala, north of Shllaku, west of Toplana and Dushmani and east of Kiri. Ora (mythology)
The Ora (Albanian language, Albanian: orë, definiteness, definite form: ora, Plural, pl.: orë/t) is an Albanian mythology, Albanian mythological figure that every human possesses from birth, associated with human destiny and fate. The essential function of the ora is to maintain the order of the universe and to enforce its laws. The ora is regarded as a kind of personal goddess belonging to only one individual.
