Manufacturing
Manufacturing is the creation or production of goods with the help of equipment, labor, machines, tools, and chemical or biological processing or formulation. It is the essence of the secondary sector of the economy. The term may refer to a range of human activity, from handicraft to high-tech, but it is most commonly applied to industrial design, in which raw materials from the primary sector are transformed into finished goods on a large scale. Such goods may be sold to other manufacturers for the production of other more complex products (such as aircraft, household appliances, furniture, sports equipment or automobiles), or distributed via the tertiary industry to end users and consumers (usually through wholesalers, who in turn sell to retailers, who then sell them to individual customers). Manufacturing engineering is the field of engineering that designs and optimizes the manufacturing process, or the steps through which raw materials are transformed i ... Bicycle Carrier
A bicycle carrier, also commonly called a bicycle rack, is a device attached to a vehicle to transport bicycles. Automotive Automobile-mounted bike carriers can be attached to the roof, rear trunk, or rear tow hitch, depending on the vehicle. Carriers have been developed especially for the rear of pickup trucks that attach either to the bed or its sides. Manufacturers offer bicycle carriers for use on motorcycles. Public transport Buses Most public transit buses in the United States and Canada are equipped with bicycle racks, though they are far less common on transit systems outside North America. Bus-mounted bike carriers are usually attached to the front of the bus, and most are capable of collapsing when not in use. Some buses have rear-mounted racks. Others, particularly on bus rapid transit systems, are equipped with interior bicycle racks to decrease dwell time. Trains Many trains have interior bicycle racks. Some are horizontal, holding cycles in place on t ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   [Amazon] |

Murphy Radical
The Murphy Radical is a Canadian STOL amateur-built aircraft that was designed by Darryl Murphy and is under development by Murphy Aircraft of Chilliwack, British Columbia. The aircraft is supplied as a kit for amateur construction. When originally announced in 2016, the all-new design was called the Radical Rebel, a reference to the earlier 1990 Murphy Rebel model. Design and development The design was first announced in January 2016. Murphy explained the design goals, "feedback from our many existing Rebel owners tells us there is a market for an aircraft with even greater performance, power and STOL capabilities and we have been listening. Although the Rebel is a good foundation to start from, the new aircraft is essentially a brand new design. A higher gross weight, more wing area, and capable of using engines up to 220 hp, it will incorporate many of the best features of the Rebel, Elite, Maverick and Super Rebel." The Radical prototype was first shown at AirVenture i ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   [Amazon] |

AirVenture
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh (formerly the EAA Annual Convention and Fly-In), or just Oshkosh, is an annual air show and gathering of aviation enthusiasts held each summer at the Wittman Regional Airport and adjacent Pioneer Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States. The southern part of the show grounds, as well as "Camp Scholler", are located in the town of Nekimi and a base for seaplanes is located on Lake Winnebago in the town of Black Wolf. The airshow is arranged by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), an international general aviation organization based in Oshkosh, and is the largest of its kind in the world. The show lasts a week, usually beginning on the Monday of the last full week in July. During the gathering, the airport's control tower, frequency 118.5, is the busiest in the world. History EAA was founded in Hales Corners, Wisconsin in 1953 by aircraft designer and military aviator veteran Paul Poberezny, who originally started the organization in the ba ... Light-sport Aircraft
A light-sport aircraft (LSA), or light sport aircraft, is a category of small, lightweight aircraft that are simple to fly. LSAs tend to be heavier and more sophisticated than ultralight (aka "microlight") aircraft, but LSA restrictions on weight and performance separates the category from established general aviation, GA aircraft. There is no standard worldwide description of an LSA. LSAs in different countries The Civil aviation authority, civil aviation authorities in different countries have their own particular specifications and regulations which define the LSA category. For example, in Australia the Civil Aviation Safety Authority defines a light-sport aircraft as a heavier-than-air or lighter-than-air craft, other than a helicopter, with a maximum gross takeoff weight of not more than for lighter-than-air craft; for heavier-than-air craft not intended for operation on water; or for aircraft intended for operation on water. It must have a maximum stall (flight), stall ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   [Amazon] |

Early 2000s Recession
The early 2000s recession was a major decline in economic activity which mainly occurred in developed countries. The recession affected the European Union during 2000 and 2001 and the United States from March to November 2001. The United Kingdom, Canada and Australia avoided the recession, while Russia, a nation that did not experience prosperity during the 1990s, began to recover from it. Japan's Lost Decade (Japan), 1990s recession continued. A combination of the Dot Com Bubble collapse and the September 11 attacks, September 11 attacks lengthed and worsened the recession. This recession was predicted by economists because the boom of the 1990s, accompanied by both low inflation and low unemployment, slowed in some parts of East Asia during the 1997 Asian financial crisis. The recession in industrialized countries was not as significant as either of the two previous worldwide recessions. Some economists in the United States object to characterizing it as a recession since t ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   [Amazon] |

The Rotax 582 is a two-stroke cycle, two-stroke, two-cylinder, rotary intake valve, oil-in-fuel or oil injection pump, liquid-cooled, gear reduction-drive aircraft engine manufactured by Rotax, BRP-Rotax GmbH & Co. KG. It is for use in non-certified aircraft operating in day visual flight rules.Prizio, Dave"Firewall Forward: Rotax service Training,"July 19, 2013, ''Kitplanes,'' retrieved July 5, 2023 Production of the engine ended at the end of 2021. Development The Rotax 582 is based upon the earlier Rotax 532 engine design and was designed for ultralight aircraft.Raisner, William: ''LEAF catalog'', pages 6-105. Leading Edge Airfoils, 1995. The 582 increased the bore from the 532 engine's . This increased the engine displacement, displacement from to , an increase of 11%. The increased displacement had the effect of flattening out the 532's torque curve and allowed the 582 to produce useful power over a wider rpm range. Reliability over the 532 was also improved. Rotax 532
The Rotax 532 is a two-stroke cycle, two-stroke, two-cylinder, rotary valve engine, liquid-cooled, gear reduction-drive engine that was formerly manufactured by Rotax, BRP-Rotax GmbH & Co. KG. It was designed for use on ultralight aircraft.Raisner, William: ''LEAF catalog'', pages 6-105. Leading Edge Air Foils, 1995. Design The 532 features liquid-cooled cylinder heads and cylinders with a rotary valve inlet. Cooling is via one or two externally mounted radiators. Lubrication is by use of pre-mixed fuel and oil at 50:1. The 532 has a single Robert Bosch GmbH, Bosch flywheel magneto ignition system. It can be equipped with either one or two piston-type carburetors. It uses a manifold-driven pneumatic fuel pump to provide fuel pressure. The engine's propeller drive is via a Rotax type B or C style gearbox. The standard engine includes a muffler exhaust system and an intake air filter. The standard starter is a recoil start type, with an electric starter optional. An integral a ...
