Munteni is a commune in Galați County, Western Moldavia, Romania with a population of 6,791 people. It is composed of four villages: Frunzeasca, Munteni, Țigănești, and Ungureni. It also included two other villages until 2004, when they were split off to form Negrilești Commune. A commune (''comună'' in Romanian language, Romanian) is the lowest level of administrative subdivision in Romania. There are 2,686 communes in Romania. Galați County
Galați () is a county (județ) of Romania, in Moldavia region, with the capital city at Galați, between latitude, 45°25'N and latitude, 46°10'N latitude, longitude, 27°20'E and longitude, 28°10'E longitude. It borders the counties of Vaslui County, Vaslui, Vrancea County, Vrancea, Brăila County, Brăila, Tulcea County, Tulcea. Cocuța Conachi
Ecaterina ''Cocuța'' Conachi (2 April 1829 – 22 February 1870) was a Romanian princess and revolutionary. She is known for her activism and work for the unification of Moldavia and Wallachia. She belonged to the Conachi family. Ecaterina Conachi married firstly in 1846, in Iași, Prince Nicolae Vogoride. They had four children. In 1864, she remarried in Rome, Prince Emanuele Ruspoli, 1st Prince of Poggio Suasa, Emanuele Ruspoli, with whom she had five children, among them Eugenio Ruspoli (, Munteni, Țigănești – , Italian Somaliland, Somalia) and Mario Ruspoli, 2nd Prince of Poggio Suasa, Mario Ruspoli (, Țigănești – , Florence). Prince Eugenio Ruspoli ( Țigănești, 6 January 1866 – near Burgi, Somalia, 4 December 1893) was an Italian explorer and naturalist. He was the author of the book ''Nel Paese della Mirra'', published in 1892. Biography Ruspoli belonged to the noble Roman and Florentine Ruspoli family, which was related to the House of Bonaparte. He was the second son of Emanuele Ruspoli, 1st Prince of Poggio Suasa, a politician, and his first wife, the Romanian princess Cocuța Conachi. He is remembered for two expeditions in Somalia. Prince Eugenio Ruspoli was inspired to explore Africa by meeting the Polish Count Frackenstein. His expeditions were financed by his father. He first explored Ethiopia and Somalia beginning in 1891.
