Mount Alfred
Mount Alfred is a mountain located at the Queen Reach arm and head of the Jervis Inlet within the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains in British Columbia, Canada. The mountain is the highest in the portion of the mainland between Jervis and Toba Inlets, with its prominence defined by the pass at the head of the Skwawka River, which feeds the head of Jervis Inlet. The unofficially-named Alfred Creek Falls, on Alfred Creek which drains off the mountain's glaciers southeast into the Skwawka, is one of Canada's highest waterfalls at . Naming The mountain was named during the 1860 survey by who charted all of the area and was named after Alfred Edward "Affie", who was the third child and second son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of England, and who was Duke of Edinburgh from his birth in 1844 until his death in 1900. Pacific Ranges
The Pacific Ranges are the southernmost subdivision of the Coast Mountains portion of the Pacific Cordillera. Located entirely within British Columbia, British Columbia, Canada, they run northwest from the lower stretches of the Fraser River to Bella Coola, British Columbia, Bella Coola and Burke Channel, north of which are the Kitimat Ranges. The Coast Mountains lie between the Interior Plateau and the British Columbia Coast, Coast of British Columbia. Toba Inlet
Toba Inlet is one of the lesser, but still principal, inlets of the British Columbia Coast. It is fourth in the series north from the 49th parallel which begins with Burrard Inlet, which is the harbour for the city of Vancouver. Between it and Jervis Inlet to its east, however, there is a freshwater fjord, Powell Lake, which has been augmented by a small hydro project to supply power to the large pulp mill at Powell River, the principal town of the Malaspina Peninsula of the upper Sunshine Coast. Albert, Prince Consort
Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (Franz August Karl Albert Emanuel; 26 August 1819 – 14 December 1861) was the husband of Queen Victoria. The Skwawka River is a medium-sized river in the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains in British Columbia, Canada, flowing southeast into the head of Queens Reach, which is the uppermost end of Jervis Inlet.
