Moses Masai
Moses Ndiema Masai (born 1 June 1986 in Kapsogom, Mount Elgon District) is a Kenyan runner who specializes in the 10,000 metres. Masai is from Bugaa village, four kilometres from Kapsokwony town. Born to John Barasa Masai and Leonida Cherop, he is the first born out of ten children. He started running while at Kapsogom Primary School. Later he joined Bishop Okiring Secondary School. At the 2005 Kenyan Sports Personality of the Year awards he won the most promising sportsman category. He won a bronze medal at the 2007 IAAF World Athletics Final in the 5000 m. He ran in the 2008 Summer Olympics and managed to finish in fourth position in the Athletics at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's 10,000 metres, 10,000 metres final, narrowly missing out on a medal. His younger sister, Linet Masai, won the women's 10,000 metres gold at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics, 2009 World Championships, while he won bronze over the same distance. Athletics is a group of sporting events that involves competitive running, jumping and throwing. The most common types of athletics competitions are track and field, road running, cross country running, cross-country running, and racewalking. Dam Tot Damloop
Dam tot Damloop (; ) is an annual road running competition held in the province of North Holland in the Netherlands. The main event is a 10-mile race from Amsterdam to Zaandam. The race was an IAAF Road Race Silver Label Event from 2013 until 2019. History The Dam tot Damloop was first held as a fun run event in 1985. Elite runners were invited the following year, with world record holder Fernando Mamede and Dutch record holder Carla Beurskens taking the men's and women's titles. 2008 IAAF World Cross Country Championships
The 2008 IAAF World Cross Country Championships took place on March 30, 2008. The races were held at the Holyrood Park in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Four races took place, one for men, women, junior men and junior women respectively. All races encompassed both individual and team competition. This was the year in which Kenenisa Bekele became the first athlete in World Cross history to win six individual long course titles, breaking his tie with John Ngugi and Paul Tergat who had each won five. Doris Changeywo
Doris Chepkwemoi Changeywo (born 12 December 1984) is a Kenyan professional long-distance runner who specialises in the 10,000 metres and cross country running. She began to enjoy success in athletics in 2006, becoming the East African cross country champion and winning at the first Shoe4Africa Women's 10km race. She gained her first major title at the 2007 Military World Games, winning the 10,000 metres gold medal. The following year she came third at the Kenyan cross championships and gained selection for the 2008 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, where she finished in fourth place and helped Kenya to the women's team silver medal. She was the winner of the 2008 edition of the Great Ireland Run and also won the Würzburger Residenzlauf that year.
