Morten Ørsal Johansen
Morten Ørsal Johansen (born 11 September 1964) is a Norwegian politician for the Progress Party. Early life and career Johansen was born in Sunndal Municipality. His father was a photographer and his mother a pay secretary. He attended school in Raufoss, in his future parliamentary constituency of Oppland. He graduated from secondary school there in 1983 with diplomas in arts and sciences. He worked for Raufoss Ammunition as a factory worker from 1984 to 1994 before being promoted to supervisor in the latter year. He continued to work in this capacity until 2000. In 2002, he received a Master of Arts degree from Gjøvik University College. Political career He had been a member of the municipal council of Vestre Toten Municipality since 1993 and of the executive committee from 1995 to 2011. Oppland (Storting Constituency)
Oppland is one of the 19 multi-member constituencies of the Storting, the national legislature of Norway. The constituency was established as Opland in 1921 following the introduction of proportional representation for elections to the Storting. Its spelling was settled as Oppland in 1950. It consists of the municipalities of Dovre, Etnedal, Gausdal, Gjøvik, Gran, Lesja, Lillehammer, Lom, Nord-Aurdal, Nord-Fron, Nordre Land, Østre Toten, Øyer, Øystre Slidre, Ringebu, Sel, Skjåk, Søndre Land, Sør-Aurdal, Sør-Fron, Vågå, Vang, Vestre Slidre and Vestre Toten in the county of Innlandet. Vestre Toten is a List of municipalities of Norway, municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the Traditional districts of Norway, traditional district of Toten. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Raufoss. Other villages in the municipality include Bøverbru, Eina, and Reinsvoll. Oppland Politicians
Oppland is a former county in Norway which existed from 1781 until its dissolution on 1 January 2020. The old Oppland county bordered the counties of Trøndelag, Møre og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Buskerud, Akershus, Oslo and Hedmark. The county administration was located in the town of Lillehammer. Merger On 1 January 2020, the neighboring counties of Oppland and Hedmark were merged to form the new Innlandet county. Both Oppland and Hedmark were the only landlocked counties of Norway, and the new Innlandet county is the only landlocked county in Norway. The two counties had historically been one county that was divided in 1781. Historically, the region was commonly known as "Opplandene". 2009 Norwegian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Norway on 13 and 14 September 2009. Elections in Norway are held on a Monday in September, usually the second or third Monday, as determined by the king. Early voting was possible between 10 August and 11 September 2009, while some municipalities also held open voting on 13 September. Voters elected 169 members for the Storting, each for a four-year term. Voter turn-out in the 2009 general elections was 76.4%. Candidates were elected on party lists in each of the 19 counties. The political parties nominated candidates for these lists during late 2008 and early 2009. The party lists had to be registered by 31 March 2009.
