Morag Corridor
The Morag Corridor is an Israel Defense Forces, Israeli security corridor in the southern Gaza Strip announced by Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu on 2 April 2025 during a renewed Rafah offensive, offensive against Rafah, and fully established on 12 April 2025. The security zone, named after a former Jewish settlement that once existed between Rafah and Khan Yunis, would create a third Israeli-controlled axis dividing sections of Gaza. Al-Mawasi, Rafah
Al-Mawasi () is a fertile area for agriculture in the Gaza Strip. It is along the coast and has many sand dunes. Al-Mawasi is fourteen kilometers long and one kilometer wide, making up about 3% of the Gaza Strip. The 36th Division "Ga'ash", also known as the Ga'ash Formation ("Rage"), is a regular-service division of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). It is subordinate to Northern Command. Gaza War Hostage Crisis
In 2023, as part of the October 7th attacks which initiated the Gaza war, Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups abducted 251 people from Israel to the Gaza Strip, including children, women, and elderly people.
