Mora is a port serving the town of Uran in Maharashtra, India. Ferry services connect to Ferry Wharf and Gateway of India in Mumbai. Occupation of the inhabitants is mostly fishing related, where in women mostly sell fish in Mumbai, Mora and Uran. Men especially have shifted to various other professions due to increased literacy and financial risks involved in fishing. Most of the population is Hindu, the town is well known for its temples in particular the Sai Baba temple near the ferry booking office which observes a number of devotees from nearby region mostly gathering on Thursdays. Raigad District
Raigad district (), previously Colaba fort, Colaba district, is a district in the Konkan division of Maharashtra, India. The headquarters of the district is Alibag. Other major cities in the district are Panvel, Karjat, Navi Mumbai, Khopoli, Shrivardhan and Mahad. The district was renamed to Raigad fort, Raigad after the fort that was the first capital of the former Maratha Empire, which in turn was renamed from its earlier name - Rairi. Uran is a coastal town in Raigad District's Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra state in Konkan division. It lies to the east of Mumbai across the Dharamtar Creek. Ferry Wharf
Bhaucha Dhakka (also called as Ferry Wharf) is a wharf along the Thane Creek, along the coast of Dockyard Road on the Eastern seafront of Mumbai, the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra. The wharf serves as the port for numerous fishermen who bring in their daily catch. Ferry services link up JNPT, Uran to the east, and Rewas and Mandwa, Maharashtra, Mandwa to the south. The wharf is used by the students of the ''Training Ship Rahaman ''which is an institute for maritime studies on the island of Nhava. The wharf is serviced by Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport, BEST buses and till the late 1980s also used to be the port of call for the Mumbai-Goa ferry services. Gateway Of India
The Gateway of India is an arch-monument completed in 1924 on the waterfront of Mumbai (Bombay), India. It was erected to commemorate the landing of George V for his coronation as the Emperor of India in December 1911 at Strand Road near Wellington Fountain. He was the first British monarch to visit India. The foundation stone was laid in March 1913 for a monument built in the Indo-Saracenic style, inspired by elements of 16th-century Indian architecture.
