Bonita, Louisiana
Bonita is a village in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 170 at the 2020 census, down from 284 in 2010. History Not much is known on the early history of Bonita, but it is believed that the exstention of the Missouri Pacific Railroad through Morehouse Parish in the 1890s is what triggered the establishment of the town. The construction of a post office around the same period solidifies this. Bonita was incorporated as a village in 1901. Five churches serve the small village. St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, St. Luke Baptist Church, St. Joe Ame Church, the Bonita Church of God, and the Bonita Baptist Church. Geography Bonita is located in northeastern Morehouse Parish. Sterlington, Louisiana
Sterlington is a town in northern Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, United States, near the boundary with Union Parish. At the 2010 census, the population was 1,594. In the 2018 census estimates, the population rose to 2,724. In 2014, Sterlington was the fastest-growing community in Northeast Louisiana. Marion, Louisiana
Marion is a town in Union Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 765 at the 2010 census, a decrease from 806 at the 2000 census. This population includes the village of Truxno in the northwestern corner of the city limits. It is part of the Monroe Metropolitan Statistical Area. Bernice is a town in Union Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,689 at the 2010 census, a decrease from 1,809 in 2000. It is part of the Monroe Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The area was part of the Louisiana frontier and pine forests, but early houses survive from the mid-nineteenth century: among the oldest homes are the R.T. Moore/Gresham/Stenzel House, known as the "Sweet Onion", and McCuller Log Cabin, both circa 1865. Bernice was established in 1899 as a sawmill town after Captain C.C.
