"Mon alliée (The Best in Me)" (, ), previously titled "The Best in Me" is a song by French singer Tom Leeb. It was chosen to represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, before the contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The original song was released as a digital download on 16 February 2020 while the revamped song was released on 3 April 2020. Background The song was written by John Lundvik, Amir Haddad, Tom Leeb and Léa Ivanne. The song is a multi-lingual French-English power ballad and, as with France's previous internal selections in 2016 and 2017, the verses are in French and the chorus is in English. After receiving more than one hundred songs written, the TV network convened several listening committees to pick the best entry. Everyone agreed on the chosen song, with some describing it as love at first listen. Tom Leeb
Tom Leeb (born 21 March 1990) is a French singer. He was selected to represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest, France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, with the song "Mon alliée (The Best in Me)", but the competition was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Family Leeb is the son of humorist Michel Leeb and journalist Béatrice Malicet, Tom Leeb was born in Paris in 1989. He is the youngest in the family, after Fanny (born in 1986) and Elsa (born in 1988). Career In 2003, he played in the theater with his father in ''Madame Doubtfire''. He studied theater, cinema, singing and dance in New York for five years. Sébastien Tellier (; born 22 February 1975) is a French singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest, France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with his song "Divine (Sébastien Tellier song), Divine". He has also produced songs for Dita Von Teese and composed music for the French films ''Narco (film), Narco'' and '':fr:Steak (film), Steak'', among others. Tellier is currently signed to Record Makers, a French independent record label. He sings in English, French and Italian. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created in 1995 on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. The Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was the 53rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Belgrade, Serbia, following the country's victory at the with the song "" by Marija Šerifović.
