Mombi
Mombi is a fictional character in L. Frank Baum, L. Frank Baum's classic children's series of Oz Books. She is the most significant antagonist in the second Oz book ''The Marvelous Land of Oz'' (1904), and is alluded to in other works. Mombi plays a very important role in the fictional history of Oz. The character was originally presented as a lowly hag who had enchanted Princess Ozma in order to prevent her from ascending to the throne. Later in the series, Baum specified that she had once conquered and ruled the Gillikin Country, as the Wicked Witch of the North, only to be deposed by the Good Witch of the North (Baum), Good Witch of the North. Furthermore, Mombi had enslaved Ozma's father (Pastoria, King Pastoria) and grandfather, thereby removing the Royal Family of Oz, and enabling herself and the Wicked Witches of the East, West and South to conquer and divide the land between them. Journey Back To Oz
''Journey Back To Oz'' is a 1972 American Animation, animated Adventure film, adventure Musical film, musical fantasy film produced by Filmation. Although L. Frank Baum received no screen credit, the film is loosely based on his second novel ''The Marvelous Land of Oz'' (1904). While a commercial flop in theaters, the film received a better reception on television, premiering December 5, 1976 on American Broadcasting Company, ABC. For television broadcast, Filmation produced live-action interstitial segments with a celebrity playing Wizard of Oz (character), the Wizard, flying in his balloon with two Munchkins. ''The Marvelous Land of Oz: Being an Account of the Further Adventures of the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman'', commonly shortened to ''The Land of Oz'', published in July 1904, is the second book in L. Frank Baum's Oz series, and the sequel to '' The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'' (1900). This and the following 34 books in the series were illustrated by John R. Neill. ''Return to Oz'' is a 1985 dark fantasy film released by Walt Disney Pictures, co-written and directed by Walter Murch. The Land of Oz is a fantasy world introduced in the 1900 children's novel ''The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'' written by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by W. W. Denslow. Oz consists of four vast quadrants, the Gillikin Country in the north, Quadling Country in the south, Munchkin Country in the east, and Winkie Country in the west. Each province has its own ruler, but the realm itself has always been ruled by a single monarch. According to ''Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz'', the ruler has mostly either been named Oz or Ozma. Princess Ozma
Princess Ozma of Oz, formally known as Tippetarius, is a fictional character from the Land of Oz, created by American author L. Frank Baum. She appears for the first time in the second Oz book, '' The Marvelous Land of Oz'' (1904), and in every Oz book thereafter. According to Baum's series Ozma is the rightful ruler of Oz, and Baum indicated that she would reign in the fairyland forever, being immortal. Pastoria
King Pastoria is a fictional character mentioned in the Oz books by American author L. Frank Baum. He was the rightful ruler and King of the undiscovered Land of Oz, but was mysteriously removed from his position when the Wizard of Oz unexpectedly came to the country and took the throne, proclaiming himself as the new dominant ruler of Oz. Shortly after, Pastoria's only child and heir, Princess Ozma, suddenly vanished, leaving not a single clue of her whereabouts. The Good Witch of the North, sometimes named Locasta or Tattypoo, is a fictional character in the Land of Oz, created by American author L. Frank Baum. She is the elderly and mild-mannered Ruler of the Gillikin Country. Glinda is a fictional character created by L. Frank Baum for his ''Oz'' novels. ''The Lost King of Oz'' (1925) is the nineteenth book in the Oz series created by L. Frank Baum and his successors, and the fifth written by Ruth Plumly Thompson. It was illustrated by John R. Neill. The ''Oz'' books form a book series that begins with ''The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'' (1900) and relates the fictional history of the Land of Oz. Oz was created by author L. Frank Baum, who went on to write fourteen full-length ''Oz'' books. Jack Pumpkinhead is a fictional character from the Land of Oz who appears in several of the classic children's series of Oz books by American author L. Frank Baum. Jack first appeared as a main character in the second Oz book by Baum, ''The Marvelous Land of Oz'' (1904), and returned often in subsequent books. He got the starring role in Ruth Plumly Thompson's 1929 book '' Jack Pumpkinhead of Oz''. The classic Oz books Jack's incredibly tall and skinny figure is made from tree limbs and jointed with wooden pegs.
