Mladen Vranković
Mladen Vranković (2 July 1937 – 12 February 2021) was a Croatian Association football, football player and manager. Career Born in Rtina, he played for his hometown club, HNK Rijeka, for eight seasons, collecting 350 caps. He also spent three years in the North American Soccer League (1968–1984), North American Soccer League playing for Kansas City Spurs. Following the end of his career he became a manager. He was Rijeka's manager between 1987 and 1989, leading the club to the 1986–87 Yugoslav Cup final against Hajduk Split. He briefly coached Australian club Sydney Croatia in the now defunct Australian National Soccer League during the 1991–92 season. Rtina is a village in northern Dalmatia, Croatia. The population is 452 (census 2011). Rtina belongs to Zadar County, and is located about 13 km from the Motorway No. 1, Zagreb – Split. Rtina lies on a small promontory whose northeastern side is located opposite to the Mountain of Velebit, separated from it with the southern part of the Velebit Channel (). It is connected by the Pag Bridge with the island of Pag at its northwestern tip. 1968 North American Soccer League Season
The 1968 North American Soccer League season was the 56th season of FIFA-sanctioned soccer in the United States and Canada, and the 1st with a national first-division league with the inaugural season of the NASL. The NASL was formed this year as a merger between the former top division soccer leagues, the United Soccer Association along with the National Professional Soccer League. In the inaugural year, the Atlanta Chiefs were the champions, by winning the NASL Final 3–0, in a two-game aggregate over the San Diego Toros. While the Chiefs were the champions for the season, the premiers for this season were the Toros, who obtained the highest point total.
