Missões
Missões, Brazil is a region of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil roughly occupying the same area previously dominated by the colonial missions founded by Saint Roque González. The ''Missões'' region is located in the northwestern part of the state and is part of a larger missions' settlement system, extending into Argentina, and other neighboring countries. Which in turn were part of a larger project, the Spanish missions in South America. Minority languages The majority of present population of the ''Missões'' region first began to arrive in this area starting only over one hundred years ago. Therefore, about three centuries after the original historical Jesuit missions had long vanished and what had been left of the native Christianized population had dispersed, reverting into their traditional semi-nomadic way of living. Guarani Das Missões
Guarani das Missões is a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Guarani das Missões calls itself the ''Polish Capital of Rio Grande do Sul'' because it was settled primarily by Polish immigrants, starting over one century ago. The Polish language is still spoken and is maintained as a unique regionalism, alongside the national language, Portuguese. History Guarani das Missões began as a Jesuit reduction settlement east of the Uruguay River. In 1891 the federal government and colonial commission of Brazil assessed and divided the land for colonization. The land originally consisted of two centers, one on the banks of the Uruguay River and one further into the interior of the country on the banks of the Comandaí River. The colony on the banks of the Uruguay would become the modern municipality of Porto Lucena whereas the land close to the Comandaí would be foundation for Guarani das Missões. Campina Das Missões
Campina das Missões is a Brazilian municipality of the state of the Rio Grande do Sul, located at latitude 27º59'20" S and longitude 54º50'22" W, being at an altitude of 163 meters. Its population estimate in 2020 was 5,398 inhabitants. Minority language region Like many towns in the state which were first settled by German-speaking Europeans, the German language is still present in daily family and community life, if not as much in the public sphere since World War II; the regional German dialect is called Riograndenser Hunsrückisch, as it is a Brazilian variant of the dialect spoken in the Hunsrück region of southwest Germany. Moselle Franconian Dialects
Moselle Franconian (; ) is a West Central German language, part of the Central Franconian languages area, that includes Luxembourgish.
