The Mission San Francisco de Asís (), also known as Mission Dolores, is a historic Catholic Church, Catholic church complex in San Francisco, San Francisco, California. Operated by the Archdiocese of San Francisco, the complex was founded in the 18th century by Catholic Church in Spain, Spanish Catholic missionaries. The mission contains two historic buildings: * The Mission Dolores adobe chapel was constructed in 1780s. It is the oldest structure in San Francisco. * The Mission Dolores Basilica was constructed in 1918. It was designated a minor basilica by Pope Pius XII in 1952. Mission San Rafael Arcángel
Mission (, ) is a replica Spanish mission in San Rafael, California. The original mission was founded in 1817 as an '' asistencia'' of Mission San Francisco de Asís to serve as a hospital to treat sick and injured indigenous people, making it Alta California's first sanitarium. The site's milder weather was believed to aid the rehabilitation of patients. It was not intended to be a stand-alone mission, but was granted full mission status in 1822 as it grew and prospered. The mission fell into severe disrepair by the 1860's, giving it the ignoble distinction as the "most obliterated" Spanish mission in California. A new parish church was built in 1861 and the mission ruins were entirely removed in 1870. Mission High School (San Francisco)
Mission High School is a public high school in the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD), San Francisco, California. Serving grades 9–12, Mission is the oldest high school on its original site in San Francisco; it has been on 18th Street, between Dolores and Church, since 1896. The original campus burned in 1922, and the replacement was completed in two stages, the west wing in 1925 and the main building was dedicated by San Francisco mayor James Rolph on June 12, 1927. Originally, girls and boys had separate courtyards. The boys' is overlooked by the "baby tower," about high, and the girls' (right) topped by a -high baroque dome. Ramaytush
The Ramaytush () or Rammay-tuš people are a linguistic subdivision of the Ohlone people of Northern California. The term Ramaytush was first applied to them in the 1970s, but the modern Ohlone people of the peninsula have claimed it as their ethnonym. The ancestors of the Ramaytush Ohlone people have lived on the peninsula—specifically in the area known as San Francisco and San Mateo county—for thousands of years.
