Miss USA 2014 was the 63rd Miss USA pageant, held at the Baton Rouge River Center Arena in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on June 8, 2014. All fifty states and the District of Columbia competed. The preliminary competition was not webcast live for the first time in five years, but excerpts were distributed post-competition via website Hulu. The final night of competition was televised on NBC. Erin Brady of Connecticut, crowned her successor Nia Sanchez of Nevada. This was Nevada's first Miss USA title. Sanchez represented the United States on home soil at Miss Universe 2014 and finished 1st Runner-Up. The date and venue was revealed by Donald Trump, co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization, and Brady on March 13, 2014, during ''Today''. However, it was reported that the delegates will be staying at the L'Auberge Casino and Hotel in Baton Rouge ahead of this announcement. Nia Sanchez
Nia Temple Booko (née Sanchez; born February 15, 1990) is an American beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss USA 2014. Sanchez represented the United States at Miss Universe 2014, where she finished as first runner-up. Early life Nia Temple Sanchez was born in Sacramento, California in February 1990, to David Sanchez, and Nicole Sanford. Her paternal grandfather, Wilbur Sanchez, is an American of Mexican descent and her paternal grandmother is German, while her mother is of Spanish, English, and other European heritage. Her parents divorced when she was six. When she was eight she and her brother, moved to Menifee, California with their father, and she went on to graduate from Paloma Valley High School in 2008. Miss Universe 2014 was the 63rd Miss Universe pageant, held at the FIU Arena in Miami, Florida, United States on 25 January 2015. This was the first time in the history of the competition that the pageant was not held during the year the title was awarded for. However, the pageant was still known as the 2014 pageant. At the end of the event, Gabriela Isler of Venezuela crowned Paulina Vega of Colombia as Miss Universe 2014. It was Colombia's second victory after 56 years in the pageant's history.
