Miranda is a coastal locality in the Far North region of South Australia, situated within the southeastern corner of the City of Port Augusta. It comprises the section of the cadastral Hundred of Winninowie between the Adelaide-Port Augusta railway line and the coast. The Augusta Highway runs along the Miranda side of the railway line. Electoral District Of Stuart
Stuart is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. At 323,131 km², it is a vast country district extending from the Spencer Gulf as far as the Northern Territory border in the north and the Queensland and New South Wales borders in the east. The district includes pastoral lease and unincorporated Crown Lands, Lake Eyre and part of the Simpson Desert in the far north. Its main population centres since the 2020 boundaries redistribution are the industrial towns of Port Pirie and Port Augusta. Yatala Harbour Upper Spencer Gulf Aquatic Reserve
__NOTOC__ Yatala Harbour Upper Spencer Gulf Aquatic Reserve is a marine protected area in the Australian state of South Australia covering the full extent of Yatala Harbor on the east side of Spencer Gulf including land within the locality of Miranda which is subject to tidal inundation. It was declared in 1984 for the purpose of “the protection of its mangrove-seagrass communities and associated fish nursery areas.” Since 2012, it has been located within the boundaries of a “sanctuary zone” within the Upper Spencer Gulf Marine Park. Winninowie Conservation Park is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia located on the east coast of Upper Spencer Gulf about south by east of Port Augusta and northwest of Port Germein, in the locality of Miranda. Augusta Highway is the part of Australia's ring route (Highway 1) located in South Australia between Port Wakefield and Port Augusta. Route Augusta Highway starts at the intersection with Eyre and Stuart Highways in Port Augusta West, then crosses the northern section of Spencer Gulf into central Port Augusta. Colloquial usage of the term in South Australia refers to that part of South Australia north of a line roughly from Ceduna through Port Augusta to Broken Hill.
