MiraclePlus () is a Chinese venture capital firm headquartered in Beijing founded in 2018. It was spun off as an independent firm after Y Combinator China was closed. It is one of the largest startup accelerators in China. Background In 2018, Y Combinator (YC) established a unit in China known as YC China. It was led by Lu Qi, a former executive who had worked at Microsoft and Baidu. In November 2019 affected by the China–United States trade war, YC announced that it would be closing YC China. It stated it would revert to its original strategy of supporting companies from its Silicon Valley headquarters. Lu and the members of YC China then established MiraclePlus as an independent firm. Lu Qi (computer Scientist)
Lu Qi (; born September 3, 1961) is a Chinese American software executive and engineer who is the head of MiraclePlus, a startup incubator in China. Previously, Lu was the head of Y Combinator's China until it was shut down. He was formerly the chief operating officer of Baidu until he stepped down in May, 2018. He has served as the executive vice president of Microsoft, leading development of Bing, Skype, and Microsoft Office, and software engineer and manager for Yahoo!'s search technology division.
